Kamen Rider Kabuto is the 7th installment in the Heisei Kamen Rider series. The main character Tendou Souji (played by Hiro Mizushima), must save the world from the threat of insect-like alien creature known as Worm. This review was based on my personal opinion. My first and the best show for me. The way Kabuto fights, storyline, and the comedy (with Kagami and Tsurugi) makes the Kabuto season golden.

Legit! The best scenes of this show are all propelled by kagami's actions. Him and Tendou make the best duo.

I can start with a counter argument towards Number 5 in a positive way; if you are struggling, say with sickness, motivation or such that is preventing you from having the will to eat, watch a few episodes of Kabuto. The way they present and express the flavors of the food helped me motivate myself to get up and eat when I needed to. Yes, you shouldn't watch it on a empty stomach; but if it's empty and you really need to fill it for your own health and well being like I did, this is a fantastic show to motivate you to do so. As for the rest... Souji really is a great breakaway from previous Heisei Phase 1 Riders. He took Hibiki's quiet, but firm determination and left his humbleness at the door. Sometimes, his perfection and attitude made me laugh, because of the reactions he caused. But I always loved to hear his next quote from his Grandmother. Some of them can be really profound and meaningful. The one that always stuck with me most was the one you used as an example: "When people love others, they become weaker... But it is nothing to be ashamed of. Because it is not true weakness. Only those who know weakness will be truly able to become stronger." It made me really think about it a while, and it clicked; we become weaker, because we let ourselves be vulnerable. But in doing so, we can let strong bonds form better than the finest steel, and become stronger because we are united. The plot really is profound and ever evolving. I watched Build start to finish, and halfway through... I got sick of it. I got sick that the plot's 'evolution' is 'the bad guys are ALWAYS one step ahead', making victories feel hollow, and made personal growth feel pointless. Also I hate Genius Form, since Build didn't start using the powers of every Full Bottle in one form individually, to make new combos. Hedgehog Gatling? Shark Vacuum? Wasted. Hyper Mode DIDN'T waste it, as you pointed out. It could use Sasword's poison, Drake's shooting, Thebee's Sting... The Hyper Zector is just awesome. Granted, I love the Gatack Zector's voice the most, because it stands out from every other, save Punch Hopper's. The rest of the points you listed are spot on. The Riders are fascinating (And sometimes funny, which breaks tension just enough!) to see grow as their views develop, the plot is one of Phase 1's absolute best, I wish we had a return of Armor and Cast Form (Props to Ex-Aid for catching the spirit in Level 1 and 2 forms!) and I always, ALWAYS love how the Zectors say the name of the finishing move. Kaboto is wonderful, and alongside others like Kuuga, Ryuki, Blade, Hibiki Part 1 and Den-O, one of the best of the first half of the Heisei decade. It is a legend, and a proud high point in the Kamen Rider franchise.

Not just that, there's a lot of "human stories" in there which are touching. Tendou cares for Kagami as a friend and helps him gain confidence, although always insisting they're not friends. Daisuke had to make the tough decision to let Gon go. And so forth. This show mixes an interesting story arc with the Worms, Natives and the Masked Rider System, and intertwines it with interpersonal stories which are interesting!

Kabuto, for me this show is freakin' awesome! Everything they tried to implement and develop into the show, they did perfectly! Honestly, I can't see any major flaw. It's sad most of the rider seasons don't bring this very same style/climax, but as much I can say, Build for example has a completely different type of personality, and he's awesome too! So, I can't completely complain about that, but I really want to see Toei think about do a more serious paced show for Reiwa...

only real sad part about Kabuto is that Tendou Souji's actor (Hiro Mizushima) was banned from Toku for a long while, which is why he never was seen reprising his role in movies with multiple riders.

In 2009, 10 years old me was randomly buy some CDs and hopeful for a episode of Ryuki in those, and what I got was 3 episode of Kabuto. I was so upset and disappointed: wtf is this "super sentai thing", but lets try those CD tho, i paid for those anyway. And i was not disappointed. Kamen Kabuto is be the best kamen rider series in my book till today, and no one can replace Hiro Mizushima as Tendou Souji.

i love the fight Choreography. But the thing i didn't really like about kabuto series is Kusakabe "Tendou" Souji, the MC himself, even Kagami Arata got more character development than the MC. Worm Kusakabe Souji is wasted potential as Tendou would end up wreck him with Hyper Clock up, would be better if Worm Souji debut prior Tendou got Hyper Zecter.

I preferred Kagami as a protagonist. Whereas Tendou had everything going for him, Kagami had to work for everything he gained. He was an everyman, not a perfect man, and yet he overcame so much more than Tendou to become the "God of Battle." Also, the "Clock Up" ability was an important feature of the show, representing a counter to the Worm and their own ability to speed up, and there were a number of cool scenes featuring raindrops and other background objects falling slowly during Clock Up. Kabuto is still a favorite among the Heisei Kamen Rider series! =^[.]^=

I'm still thinking Clock Up is the most powerful power up among rider. They even can use it right away with almost no limitation. Ofc, it can still be countered (Kuuga Pegasus and Zi-O II can definitely see them). Still, other rider might find it hard to defeat.

I can understand why everyone likes the season, but I think the way that Tendo was portrayed was a bit to perfect for my taste. Just the point of how the main rider was incredible at everything doesn’t give a nice feeling of growth. I have always been a fan of the main character being an underdog, because it shows more character development and makes it easier to indulge your self in the story. Which is why my favorite seasons are OOO, Gaim and Den-o.

The main character doesn't always need to have character development. Tendou is the type of character who influences and impacts others like Kagami with his perfection, even if he doesn't experience any growth himself.

Clock Up still the best power! all kamen riders after kabuto need be "better" they try use some time travel or super speed powers and they always do good being next to clock up powers like drive, muteki ex aid... in decade kabuto was amazing perfect over the edge, how diend gave up to see he has no chance, final form rider with kabuto is beautiful above all others, only pegasus kuuga had a chance! For me clock up is light speed or almost this.

To be honest, in my opinion Kabuto is one of the worst Kamen Riders I've ever watched. Specially because of its second half. And almost every episode written by Inoue is kinda shit. But it's a cool series and I think it's still worth watching.
