The elac you showed is the ref dbr 62, Elac debut 2.0 have rounded front bass reflex

That’s what I thought so too. The DBR62 cost more than twice that of the debut 2.

The DBR62 kicks ass. If you got some power. 25 watts per channel into 8 ohms is not going to do it. Try class D 200 Watts with tube preamp. Will rock your room down to 30 HZ. Gee, how do I know this😮.

Hello my first foray into active speakers was with audio engine and I had the threes! After some trial and error I tried some dynaudio passive speakers which I liked! It was their bottom of the line speakers! Then I really wanted to buy their active xeo 20's! I finally bought them and paired with a bluesound node for some hi-res music and I was home! Very good speaker!

Thank you for including the Elac dbr62 reference. With a good tube preamp, and enough power, they are excellent. You can pay 10x the amount and get a worse speaker. I know. I have B&W's to compare. Thanks for the video.

I have a penchant for acoustic music, and I crave a sonic experience that faithfully reproduces the instrumentation with utmost precision. I desire to discern each instrument - be it the violin's soaring highs, the drum's dynamic attack, the flute's airy subtleties, or the guitar's rich timbre - with crystal clarity and definition. a sound signature that is unfatigueing and suitable for extended listening , very easy to ears , an all day speaker .Furthermore, I seek vocals that are layered, lively, and nuanced, with a sense of depth and dimensionality. Finally, I require a bass response that is taut, nuanced, and capable of conveying the subtlest textural details, thereby immersing me in a truly captivating sonic landscape. Sir, please suggest me an under 500 dollar bookshelf speaker best suited for requirements and preference.🙏

Going to have to go to $700 and get the elac reference. Worth every penny if you have a good amp and preamp.

Get a good quality soundbar. I use the B&O Stage after reviewing many, main reason being that it sounds fantastic without subwoofer. Wife didn't allow me to get a subwoofer...

Better to buy the new S3000MKII :)

I will click on your links IF you first be able to explain to me what "audiophiles" mean.

Clickbait title. Only the Bowers & Wilkins 707 S2 can be considered an entry level 'audiophile' bookshelf speaker.

Elac DBR62 will beat that B&W. I have seven B&Ws. I think I know. Give the Elacs a tube preamp and some power, and they will do great. Better than some speakers 10x the price.
@geoffreydebrito7934Ай бұрын
@@peterbaugh51 Any speaker 3 times the price of the DBR62, much less 10x the price that the DBR62 beats is arguably, overpriced. What combination of tube preamp and suitable power amp in the same $699. price range would you recommend?
@peterbaugh51Ай бұрын
@geoffreydebrito7934. Look up The Billie Amp for an example. Read my comment again. You seem to be having trouble understanding the English language. I have vast experience with different priced speakers. I know what I am talking about. And yet you continue to argue. That's interesting, not. Any clean 200 watt amp and good tube preamp is going to make most speakers sound better. It makes the elac reference sound great. Now go out and buy the equipment and test it yourself. Have a nice day.
@geoffreydebrito7934Ай бұрын
@@peterbaugh51 I'm not arguing, simply pointing out that your suggestion that the buyer spend far more for amplification; a $699. speaker driven by a $2k amplifier like the Billie 11 MK2 is highly problematic for the typical buyer of $699. a pair of bookshelf speakers. And that sans source and sub(s) as well. Side note; an "argument from authority" is a logical fallacy. You may well know what you're talking about but "shut up and listen" and sarcasm regarding my reading comprehension is a rude and pompous response. But by all means, have a nice day.
@peterbaugh51Ай бұрын
@geoffreydebrito7934 You may now get a similar amp for $130. Douk ST-01 Pro, but you need to upgrade the tubes with GE JAN 5654w or 6K4 equivalent. Is that more reasonable? I'm trying to help people realize that spending a lot more money is not going to guarantee the best overall sound in a stereo system. Especially with speakers. And sometimes authority based on experience is worth listening to. Thanks.
