I think someone as technically proficient in movements and makes the most of every leverage as Novikov does would be a great candidate to crossover. Give him a few years to learn technique and his mind would give him an advantage.

Novi is definitely one of the smartest athletes in strongman. I feel like his recent elbow issues would keep him from really doing well in arm-wrestling unless he's managed to completely recover

I have a hard time watching arm wrestling because of that forearm snap in WSM which you cover above. That still haunts me. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often; there is so much tension on the forearm from it being pulled in opposite directions at once.

It’s more a risk with people who don’t really known what they’re doing technically. Add in the huge general strength strongmen have and you have a big risk.

Question Loz, after years of training Strongman, which is a very individual sport (you vs the weight or event), how much fear is there when transitioning to armwrestling? In strength training and competition, you are in control, in armwrestling the guy you're gripped/strapped to wants to rip your arm off. The tiny biomechanics you mention are what I hope Brian can commit to, he has the horsepower, the will to win etc, I just hope he becomes the full armwrestling package!

The height thing is one thing i wish there was a way to fix in strongman. If youre like 5ft even or something thata one thing, but some of these dudes are like 6ft-6'2"ish and still gettin some distinct disadvantages just because of the event set up versus actual strength. I know theres not really much you could do about it without giving the really bif guys a huge advantage, but it is unfortunate.
