Hi, in the 8/21 crossover scanner, the search criteria you set was for 15mins, but the trade examples were on a 1minute chart. Can you pls explain the discrepancy (if any!) ? Thanks

Hey, Jimsy. Thanks for the question. You're correct in that the time frames differed between what we use in the scan and what we see on the chart. Keen eye you've got there! The chart used in the example is on the 5m time frame. However, the purpose of the chart is simply to show the trade setup. As mentioned in the accompanying blog, time frame is discretionary per the trader and these ideas can be adjusted based on the time frame you prefer. The example is still sound, regardless. Incredibly informative and useful video. Great teaching technique, too. But I think I'm missing a fundamental concept. Aren't these strategies, and not scanners? I perhaps wrongly assume that a scanner scans for setups that have the potential to work with a given strategy. So an 8/21 EMA scanner would look for conditions that would favor employing the 8/21 EMA strategy.

Thank you! They're both, really. Once you have a strategy defined, you can use the scanner to find names that are meeting your strat's conditions right now!

Hello, Gianmarco! Thanks for the question. In order to do this, you'll need to save the conditions as a script. You'll see' Script Actions' in the top right corner of the conditions. Click that, then choose 'Save as Script'. Once you've saved the script, you can then load the script into the entry or exit fields of the strategy tester via the same 'Script Actions' button. None of these scans are contained within the shared scanners that come preloaded within the platform, but they are all available for download via the links in the description on this video. Hey Dynobeans! Thanks for the question, but I'm not sure I understand what you're asking here. Scanners do not necessarily tell you when to buy or sell. They simply tell you the symbols that are meeting your predefined criteria at the particular time that you run the scan. Let us know if this helps!

I would love to do that and to sign up with you. However, please send me a video or a specific guide to the specific software/menu. Although Jason has done so many excellent vids, I haven't yet seen anything indicating that TS has a tool to build up at V-Pattern Scanner. Hey Glenn! Happy to help you with this, but need a bit more info from you as to how specifically you define a v-shaped bottom. What time frame are you looking for them on? How quickly do they drop and then bounce back? How much do they drop? All of these are variables that can be defined. One way you could try; Defined a higher time frame candle that opens and closes in a similar spot by defining 'price.open' and 'price.close' are within range of one another and that 'price.low' is less than 'x %' from them. Perhaps you could tune into an Office Hours session and we could go over the idea with you live.

@@TrendSpider Ideally an tool for all timeframes, but personally I'm looking for at 30 and 60 min tool. V-shape or 2 try-failure pattern happens all the time, any where in the market and in all instruments, so I suppose this would be something that your pro-customers can benefit from.
