Top video and great advice. Particularly positive and supportive people. I've found the people who i talk to more than anyone else are runners now. I've had nothing but positivity from other runners and on running apps and platforms..fellow runners are the most supportive people I know.. and they get it!! Look forward to more quality videos and advice in 2025 👌🎊

Great advice especially about running with positive people, you guys have definitely helped me on some very dark winter runs . I would really recommend being flexible, I had two days rest with a tight hamstring, which I was reluctant to do but I was actually in a better place than if I’d ran through it. Good luck with this year’s marathons

Great advice as always guys. Being flexible is key for me now, but that was a struggle in my early running days. I found some old paper training journals the other day tucked inside the triathletes Bible by Joe Friel. I has a plan for the half marathon run at the end if a 70.3 where I had the run planned down the minutiae of the cadence and breathing pattern I was hoping to keep 😂 all good learning I suppose to not take things too seriously!

Hi John and Dawn. As a 70 year old lady I will be doing my 9th two oceans ultra marathon in April. So will have a few marathons to do before the race. Did a 15k run this morning in a very hot and humid Zimbabwe. Really enjoy all your videos. So any help for a 70 year old is appreciated.

I misheard John near the start, thinking he said, "So you may have more than one wife...". 😅 I really must get my ears checked! Thanks for the excellent advice and insights as always 👍 😀

Cracking video once again John, Dawn !! And been a clip next to Mr Bester 😲 😲 thank you 😃 All the best for 2025 and Brighton if I haven't mentioned that already. I wonder... Is there a TRB marathon training plan in the works for 2025 ?
@tworunningbrooms2 күн бұрын
We don't have any plans to produce mass TRB marathon plans as we're writing individual ones for a few folk and no time currently. 🙂 Happy New Year to you and Mrs RTP!

Well done you two, great video. John I think we’re about same sort of time for 5k (just under or over 20 mins) but you put me to shame with all the stuff you do. I’m 59 in a few weeks so I think I need to finally accept the so far absent S&C. 😬 Plus find some hills…🥵 Keep up the good work, Happy New Year to you both. 😀 Just realised you’re running where Andrea and I were yesterday, along the canal.

Small world... A lovely part of the world. 🙂 Hills are a runners best friend! 👌 😅

The long run is the most important part of training. Try and run a fast 10 miler before thinking about the marathon. Sub 60 min 10 for sub 3.00 marathon. Sub 55 min 10 miler for sub 2.35 marathon. Enjoy.

Yes, long runs always feature highly in our training. 🙂
