I agree with Cal wholeheartedly! He explains his QBS system simply and masterfully

The presenter does a great job of explaining qualification based selection (QBS) and boils it down to "dollars and cents" so we can all understand. The only thing missing is adding Information Technology (IT) Consultants to the list of vendors that a QBS should be used to procure services from. I have seen far too many RFPs that required the problem to be solved in order to quote accurately on the project, as stated in the video, this is costing everyone money!

Yes. YES! In the IT & Digital Design community, the RFP process is exploitative. It has to GO!

Can't agree more with Cal. The RFP process is broken and often doesn't allow experts to offer their very best to clients, who deserve it.

10 - 100 variables in The Matrix the control of which is necessary to conduct experiments on a subject who shall remain as is the customary practice unnamed and these proposals could require large sums of money which if they are sufficiently stated in justify May readily be provided and which may be immediately withheld or denied the requester should the proposal appear to be boo boo which is code word for no good or not sufficient no adequate to need the stringent requirements of such experiments to chip away at the computationally near irreducible underpinnings of the behaviors of the unnamed subject.

Qualifications Based Selection: Propose a cost-plus deal if a qualified proposer stands behind a minimally-viable offer.

Many (most?) RFPs for professional services in which I have been involved have an evaluation framework of 70% non price and 30% price factors. I think your presentation its based upon a false dichotomy. There are many examples of poor procurement practice, and some of those are caused by lack of capability not the underpinning methodology. The idea that 'RFP bad' and 'Solution X good' is simplistic and not worthy of you.
