This is my favorite series on your channel! So glad you’re reviving it. So far since moving to NYC, I’ve gotten the bao from Spring Cafe, the rice rolls from Joe’s Steamed Rice Rolls, and a bagel from Tompkins Square Bagels all on your $5 meal recommendations! My family pronounces Manousheh more like Meneish and it's my absolute favorite middle eastern food(next to ful). I could eat it every day omg. When I was still in school I'd spread za'atar on a flour tortilla (we always add chopped walnuts to our za'atar as well for texture) and take that for lunch as a quick easy meneish method.

There's a hole in the wall Chinese spot in the LES that sells peanut butter noodles for $2.50! They were closed all through the early COVID days, but they've recently reopened. Check out Shu Jiao Fu Zhou and be sure to ask for vinegar and sriracha to mix in!

Years ago Rachael Ray did a series called 40 dollars a day. She would visit a city and attempt to purchase breakfast, lunch, dinner and usually some sort of dessert and/or cocktail type treat for 40 dollars. You could try something like that and it would remove the strict guidelines of each item having to be at or under a certain price point. Just a suggestion :)
