I think the pattern for the strum you are playing would be clearer as D-DU-UDU not D-D-U-U-D-U (you use arrows, I can't here). This shows the the basic DUDUDUDU is used with "-" indicating that the strings are not hit on that pass. (If you watch without audio, it looks as if you are playing DUDUDUDU and I think it's important for beginers to realise that pretty well all strum patterns use that pattern - just "missing" the strings on some ort other of the strokes, depending on the sprecific strum.)

iñigo san jose I had this problem and I still have this problem. Learn the chords first and then the strum pattern. Get it so you can play those two parts without thinking. So if you can talk to a friend while doing both, you are good, then work on the placement of the words. And for heaven's sake, TAKE IT SLOW. Slow it down, don't worry about the speed, that will come later. So now I'm having trouble finger picking and singing, but strumming I have no problem. Its just practice, practice, practice. Find an easy song also like Lion Sleeps Tonight, three chords!! That makes it easier. Then build up from that.
