A hamburger is $12, get a medium fry and it’s $5.50 get a regular drink and it’s $3. That is 20.50 per meal. a meal at mcdonald’s is $12 or less. I can go to a fancy and very good italian restaurant for that same price and get 100x more full while having a better experience and extremely better taste. Five guys wants to be a fast food spot, they should not charge restaurant prices when their buying potatoes for DIRT CHEAP, and hamburger for DIRT CHEAP. Their margins on hamburgers and fries are the most in fast food and are INSANE. They buy potato’s and cook them fresh so they SAVE money. also half the fries u get are either way under cooked or burnt.

I have trouble with processed food that has high fat content. 5 guys truly doesn't trigger my allergy as Mcdonals and other frozen burgers and sausages do. My first time at 5 guys, I kind of gawked at the prices. But then i looked over at what other customers were eating and realized the burgers were about the same size as our home made patties (not frozen). Then I realized the drinks were free refills, complimentary free peanuts were everywhere and they had things like jalapeño and mushrooms as topping options. After that I was sold. Not to mention they had about 6 people just working the grills and friers and the cashiers only took orders. They are good and fast which is why the food costs more than a typical chain drive through.

People complaining about the standard burger price fail to realize its two burgers on one bun. The little burger is just one patty on a bun. So when youre getting a regular burger, youre getting twice of what mcdonalds or burger king would give in your standard burger. With better flavor to boot because of the fact we actually grill the patties, while Mcdonalds or burger king broil theirs.

also I just want to say as someone who knows someone else personally that worked at a five guys, their crew puts in WORK. apparently five guys actually hires another company to inspect their stores’ cleanliness, so every night the employees have to clean EVERYTHING. if any amount of dust/dirt/grime could get on it, it had to be cleaned. I’m glad I don’t work there lol their cleanups at the end of the night took them like 2 hrs

Fresh doesnt mean anything for those prices. When I worked at McDonald's we cooked patties most every 20 minutes when its not busy at all. If you want a burger that was just cooked go to McDonald's when they're fairly busy and have a mcdouble with fries and a drink for less than $6. Everything was cooked less than 5 minutes before you got there anyway

The burgers and cajin fries are amazing. I only recently tried it after dodging it for years and i was blown away. Its considered fast food but its better than any other chain. People complain about the price but its literally like Jack n the box or Carls junior burger prices if you get one of the specialty burgers. You also get a ton of fries even with the smallest order.

I worked for 5 guys. Can confirm, everything is fresh. Patties are rolled daily. Potatoes are cut daily. Fries are cooked to order. The cashier checks temps on everything every fucking hour, on the hour. The food might be expensive but man is it worth it. Their vegetarian option is a bunch of grilled veggies, and its amazing.
