The UK Five Guys is ridiculously priced. It's an American chain and in the states that exact meal (Bacon Cheeseburger, small cajun fries, and drink) costs around USD13.25, which is about GBP10.70. The GBP14.90 mentioned is almost 40% higher. By the way, am in London and if I price it out here it costs GBP20.85 (so all the more bonkers--bacon cheeseburger at £13.45, small fries at £4.55. and a drink at £2.85). In-n-Out Burger is even cheaper--a double-double, fries and large drink costs around USD8.20 give or take or GBP6.60, but is an independent chain that is sadly non-existent in the UK.

Yeah its a pisstake though 20% of that is vat but I'm pretty sure the raw ingredients are cheaper in the uk compared to the us at least our supermarket prices are cheaper for a lot of items even with that 20% vat I would assume the same still applies to the higher quality ingredients five guys would use too

I went into the centre of Liverpool a few weeks ago and was shocked at how much of a shithole it has become in a couple of years. And I used to live just outside Leicester, and used to quite like the city centre, especially Cafe Bruxelles on the High Street, and the bars round the back there. It seems to be the way with almost all mjor towns and cities. It's a b**nfest now
