Five Landmark Events that Changed Hospital Pharmacy- Part 1- Lecture for Pharmacists and students

In our last installment of the PharmEZ tutor, I reviewed the history of Pharmacy, past present and future. Today, I wanted to highlight the 5 landmark events that I think have significantly changed hospital pharmacy and healthcare. This lecture will be in two-parts, with the first part going over Events 1 to 3.
We will focus on two things: 1) the significant impact medication errors can cause and 2) the detrimental effects an unsterile IV room can impact patient lives. Included will be a discussion of greater oversight performed by governmental and regulatory agencies in response to these events.
