1:03 - This is inaccurate. Michael Schmidt does not trade off his little sister to get just a few more details about his little brother’s disappearance from the ghost children. He was offered the trade by the ghost children in exchange for him to stay in a coma like state where he can relive the days with his little brother and parents, as the kidnapping of his little brother lead to an overall separation and devastation from the family, not just more details about his whereabouts. However, he soon changed his mind as it was in the moment, panicked and desperate to take back the trade offer, learning to let go of the past and his little brother, now that he’s come to terms with him being more grieving over vengeful and chooses to appreciate his little sister even further. 1:35 - Abby is not portrayed as autistic nor even schizophrenic. It is explicitly remarked by the child psychologist that she is exhibiting normal behavior for children, which is having imaginary friends, upon the worry of her not making friends with others was brought up. It is not only established that Michael can’t take care of Abby because of the beat up, but instead his overall inability to maintain a stable job to provide for her or even be present in her life but narratively speaking, he was shown to be able to take care of her, as seen by him appointing a baby sister and him not being willing to give Abby to their aunt over her just wanting custody for an extra buck. In the part where it was shown that he was beating up the man, it was an early indicator of the childhood trauma he had faced as a child with the kidnapping of his little brother, as he had mistaken that father for yet another kidnapper, showing his genuine care towards his family and children in general. 2:08 - He did not start to look for his little brother through his dreams. It was explicitly shown that he was looking for memories that could point to who was responsible for his little brother’s kidnapping and be able to present the recollection and perhaps later down the line, evidence, to put the kidnapper to Justice. 2:27 - The whole point behind the horror of the franchise (at least in the original trilogy, which the movie is based on) is the uncanny valley factor and by giving these anthropomorphic animal animatronics clear personalities, that would clearly make them more akin to mischievous furries instead of confused children possessing animatronics. 2:40 - You complained about the “none sense” in the movie, yet praise the cupcake for “somehow flying.” It doesn’t somehow fly, it’s flung to the victims as a projectile. What would be his personality? Being irritable? To me, at least, the cupcake didn’t show any notable personality trait among the animatronics and the production team actually spoke about somewhat over relying on the cupcake due to it being easier in terms of practical effects to pull off.

Thats totally fair and about what I expected the reviews from non-fans to be. As a huge fan I was ultimately satisfied because It could have been so so so much worse

I enjoy the movie but I do agree that the Horror aspect is the weakest aspect of the movie The film isn’t scary there is only 2 scenes that are scary The opening and Mike finding the dead bodies that’s it Like if you are going to be a horror movie do your job and be scary But I heard Blumhouse learn from the first film and that they will fix the horror issues in the sequel

Good points. I gotta point out though, in the early days of FNAF the series didn't cater towards 7-year-olds. As a fan i was very disappointed in this movie. Just want you to know the series wasn't always this watered down. For example, the springlock incident in the game universe was much more violent. It's sad how this series went from horror to kid's adventure

Hopefully it grows up as the series develops!

Yeah I don't understand why they made the springlocks in the movie just, spikes that jab into you. In-universe they're small devices that hold the robotic parts inside the suit outwards so a person can climb inside. When they fail, the robotic parts forcefully reassemble themselves inside the person, tearing them apart at every angle. I'm not a diehard fan, but FNaF has enough of a significance to me that I still, overall, enjoyed the movie. But how the spring locks were represented was one of my main gripes as well.

honestly i wanted to be offended about you saying the movie was bad....but you're right the things i didn't like about the movie was the springlock failure ending scene, all of the death scenes, the plot, and the character development

The game's story, while iconic and beloved is poorly written at times, lacked a clear direction for a long time and constantly redconned itself time and time again leaving the fan base (everyone exept kids) rather dissapointed. Endings got redconned. William Afton's character was changed multiple times trought the books and games. The interation we see in the movie being based on the Silver eyes (the first book, not the two so called sequels) and is the most beloved official take on the character yet.... A version of the character that was redconned in it's own continuity and turned into a generic dude obsessed with living forever... It was surprising to see Silver eye William back again... even if he was unfortunately casted aside even trough he is fnaf's main character alongside Micheal....

It’s not my favorite movie but it does look good, has a bit of a rough start not gonna lie. Now don’t get me wrong I’ve been in the fandom between 2 and 3 but the writing wasn’t the best…it wasn’t terrible but not what i thought along with many others. I do get reiterating that the ghosts ARE CHILDREN so you can’t just make them fully thinking like an adult because they wouldn’t have those thoughts. So I didn’t take the fort scene to heart but i remember in a chat with Scott that he said the movie would be a bit gory…and I can’t tell if I’m just desensitized from going on a horror movie binge with my grandma or what….but that didn’t look R to me. I do understand stand the marketing aspect of introducing and wide audience yada yada so that also makes sense but it did leave me wanting more which is good and bad because if could influence me, the viewer to see more and hope for better or go in/not expecting more not so good content. All I can hope for is the only way from here is up and advancing in the scares.
