FNAF lore is so cool because it's like eight games to explain a throwaway line in the first game
@deathxknightx666 Жыл бұрын
Lol, I think you mean to say that’s called a cash grab. Yes, play eight games and read what like twenty something books that all vaguely have nothing to do with a plot and simultaneously have so many open holes it’s a wonder anybody has an “understanding” by the end. The books made me bitter if you couldn’t tell, games are fine tho I suppose. Mostly just the first one, since it kinda had to have an actual plot to build off…

@@deathxknightx666Shouldnt have surprised you that taking all the mystery out of something made it worse. Its like seeing Darth Vader the first time, thinking how cool his suit looks, wondering why there are lights and buttons on it. Then you go read some Expanded Universe material on why it has buttons and lights and it explains them all in painful yet still meaningless and nonsensical detail and it just makes you want to gargle bleach.
@chimpindoge3474 Жыл бұрын
@@PraxesArdennSo true. I am so god damn sick of extended universe lore in franchises that just extend what was already on screen and didnt need explanation. I dont care if the mouse girl in scene 5 of episode 4 was a stripper/bountyhunter/farmer. Mystery and fan interpretations always end up being more interesting anyways. Nobody can convince me that Scott isn't subverting expectations because he doesnt want to be predicted. Its an ego thing
@deathxknightx666 Жыл бұрын
@@PraxesArdenn honestly I won’t lie the book just kinda suck In my opinion. Unless you’re into the Twillight style YA series it just struck me as idiotic. Choices make no sense, plot seemingly nonexistent. It makes vague ties to the main plot of the games, but as their own additions they are terrible and do nothing but give you information to see more plot holes. Characters are shallow as an evaporated puddle and I just couldn’t finish a single book. Read ‘em all, but every single one pissed me off so bad I had to stop. It was like watching a cheesy horror movie, without the horror just all the shitty decisions and unrelatable personalities. Some of these characters are as old as me and yet everything said, done, motives… it’s like a child wrote it, and a feminist approved or something. I only say that because some dialogue literally gave me flashbacks of certain people from the real world… great books for young angst adults fresh off their teens. Definitely not a pile of wasted writing materials.

FNaF was actually based on a series of incidents that happened at a chuck -e-cheese involving Lyle, where Lyle had hosted a birthday party for himself at chuck’s and specifically ask for “the rat man to be there”. He would then wait 10 minutes before brutally wearing the mascot performer and pretending to be them for the rest of the day to not draw suspicion towards any disappearances. He was caught on the supposed Sixth time when staff walked into the room and found him strangling the bloodied body of the performer, who succumbed to their injuries. Later Autopsies showed that the skull of the performer had two large puncture holes, and the imprint of a comically large belt upon his scalp. He was given a lifetime in prison, but it was pardoned when Lyle helped in the capture of Osama Bin Laden.

I have friends who are way into FNAF, so I feel bad for thinking this: but the lore is kinda lame. It seems like a bunch of amateur game theorists lead by MatPat just mashing together a bunch of horror tropes, and Scott Cawthorn making it canon for the hell of it

sharing things with a niche friend group is just a childhood things, growing up just makes it hard to not realize that there are lots of other people online aware of that thing.
