@mikeandcheryl2 ай бұрын
@TravelBugTheRobinsons Sorry, but I really can't remember, I'm thinking 40 something.....!. It was about ten floors below the infinity pool at the top. On Booking.com it is listed as Platinum Suites Tower 2 KLCC. I was talking with the chap who checked us in, and basically "his boss" had the whole floor and let apartments out through various places like booking.com. Practically the entire building is holiday apartments and there are 2 sorts of people who have apartments. Those who do the check-ins themselves and meet you in the foyer and those who use the front desk to do them on their behalf. There is no way of knowing which one you have booked. The front desk ones can be a nightmare with long queues and miserable staff. We were very dubious having read all the reviews; however, we did not experience any of the bad bits such as long elevator delays etc. KL is awesome, vibrant and well worth a visit 😀

I didn't understand what you said about having to buy a ticket in Vietnam in order to get our of Malaysia. What's that about?
@mikeandcheryl9 ай бұрын
Apparently it is a requirement of Malysian Immigration that visitors have a ticket to leave the country again when they enter. When we went to check in for the flight in Vietnam the airline would not check us in unless we had a ticket to get back out of Malaysia afterwards. They explained that if we didn't have one and they let us board the aircraft and we were refused entry to Malaysia they would be responsible for taking us back in to Vietnam. In order to do this I just went on to booking.com and booked the cheapest flight possible (£19 - no luggage -Penang to Singapore) They then let us board. Interestingly enough, when we got to Malaysia they did check we had accommodation booked and travel out of the country booked too. I was unable to change the flight with booking.com nor get a refund so we simply didn't show for the the flight and eventually flew out a week or two later. It made no difference as we were stamped in for 90 days. Hope that helps.

A few days before we go anywhere we google things to do in (insert place) and we do the same on KZbin. We then choose the ones we want to do during the week and I write a list of 15 or so in a notebook. As we do each one we cross them off the list. whats the name of the property you stayed at?
@mikeandcheryl10 ай бұрын
This is a link to the property on booking.com. It is a little complicated in that there are numerous people renting suites out in a huge building. You will see many mixed reviews about the building and the apartments. Most of these seem to relate to poor service from the front desk, poor comms with the person renting it out and the lifts always being full. All I can say is we never had to wait for a lift for more than a few minutes and the person we rented it from met us in the lobby, so we didn't have to deal with the front desk. He also responded very quickly to any requests and was on time to hand it back to at the end. I would rent from this user again. Check out Platinum Suites Tower 2 KLCC on Booking.com! www.booking.com/Share-98i2jdd

Those people working at the front lines esp those at the big eateries places are foreigners who hardly know how to speak English.
