I have a friend who built Veteran Explorer as a joke, and the deck actually is super good. By tutoring up 2 lands it pays for its own commander tax everytime it dies, and enables some insane ramp. Due to also ramping everyone else, it's weel perceived politically until it starts hard casting the biggest creatures in the format at green. Really fun deck to play with that completely changes the dynamics of the match

That sounds really cool! I like the idea of playing a political ramp deck in mono-green, where you get to use your resources for giant threats better than your opponents can. Thanks for the comment!

My son and I are designing casual PDH decks. I'm using Glumgully as the Commander, but fear I may be trying to pack too much into the deck. It's being built on Moxfield. Care to look it over and give me your thoughts? It's called "Permian Park".

Daru Warchief is awesome. There are so many primo soldiers

There really are! Soldiers feel like a very underrated creature type to me. And with Daru Warchief you can make things like Cathar Commando into a 1-mana flash 4/3, or a 3/5 Kor Skyfisher, etc. Lots of great options to choose from. Thanks for watching!
