I'm a simple woman that rambles and shows you chickens or rabbits or plants. Married, kids....you know the thing.
I am creating a micro-homestead on my .45 acres in eastern West Virginia. My goal is to become more self-sufficient for the health and security of myself and my loved ones. I also want to share and learn with others about homesteading so those that may be hesitant can see how easy and rewarding it is (no matter where they live) while growing my own knowledge.

Hello! Yes, I've been Tool obsessed for about 6 years now. I always liked them since Sober came out but something wasn't letting me REALLY understand them. Not sure how or why they struck me so hard but they did. Must have just been the right time. I took my daughter to see them in Cleveland in 2019. THE best show I have ever seen. Played every song I would have wanted to hear except Lateralus and Prison Sex. I wanted to go see Sessanta this year but it was WAY too pricey for me. When I started the chickens, I had Parabol too but she passed early on. I decided you can't have parabola without parabol so I started calling parabola, parabolabola. Two in one. I would recommend getting a incubator as soon as the hen gets up and abandon the eggs so you continue the egg process in artificially especially when you have extra eggs. still 5 babies out of 1 hen is a good number IMO.

If I had incubator money, I would have one lol. I'm VERY happy with 5. I didn't expect 1 so I'm good with the outcome either way.

Aww I’m so happy for you. 🥰❤️🐥 This is how I ended up with so many roosters. I hatched chicks and fell in love. Last year we did incubator babies and a brood under a broody and I contrasted them in a weekly video series. It was very interesting how much better mama was at feeding them. Her babies had perfect poo and my incubator babies always had smelly diarrhea. 🤣 Anyway this year I bought pullets because I can’t do any more roosters. Hopefully we got all girls in the brooder! 🤪🤣

It's a completely different thing isn't it? I wondered about the problems I had with the purchased babies like pasty butt. They all have such fluffy cute butts right now and I was wondering if mama would keep them clean or if they may not even have those problems. I was so worried about giving the bought babies the right food and keeping the temp just so and now I watch these feral babies eating all kinds of stuff off the ground. They don't seem to be in distress in ANY way. It's so much fun. Guess I'm officially a dull woman if THAT gives me such pleasure lol.

Not.every.hen.is.a.natural.brooder.So,starting.with.just.one.hen.and.1.rooster.won't.guarantee.babies.
