Great test run but would have been better if I had three arms.

Man yeah, looks like your configuration worked perfect!! Love the front center shank rolling the soil out like that!! Boy it can get busy working those chisel plows especially trying to film! The 1086 draft doesn't seem to work very well either, and quite the chore to handle in my packed soil! I really enjoyed all the cmaera angles, and the voice over explaining what happened! Thank you Mr SBF for bringing us along, and look fwd to seeing the disk run across this very soon!! 😀☕☕

I was only thinking this man is darn good driving a tractor, holding a camera and playing a guitar.!!!!!!! Then that happened. Just watched Farmer P video. a farmer in the UK that had spent some of his day visiting a new John Deere dealership, with lots of big green things with yellow wheels all lined for some one to buy. Not only were they Deere but expensive as well, so he only came away with two pork rolls inside him. Thanks for posting and the time you took getting those camera angles. Hey I got the No. 1. comment slot, magic!!!!

Great video my friend! It's obviously a lot dryer where you are than it is up here. We had over a foot of snow that melted in the last week and a half due to rain and some warmer weather (low 60), so everything is very mushy and I couldn't even think about getting into the field yet. That 4020 sounded great, like always. Keep up the good work.

Five shanks on this plow is a good match to the horsepower of this tractor however I had the shanks arranged in a bad configuration and created some wavy land with it. took several passes with the light disc to get it flattened out. I moved the shanks back the way they were when I first got the plow and it works great now.

SBF I don't mean to seem rude but what is your purpose / goal with cultivating the soil this deep? From watching and listening the video It seemed to me that the single tine at the front is working somewhat deeper than the rear two. Perhaps that is because you have fitted a new point to it and the others are somewhat effectively shorter and therefore working a little shallower? Perhaps the rear tyres are sinking in or are digging down into the soil as it works as it clearly is a heavy draft task. Whatever I suggest you lengthen the toplink perhaps a full turn or so. I'm possibly mistaken but I thought that there were at least three occasions when I thought I heard the hydraulics respond to you altering the quadrant setting and almost simultaneously the nose of the tractor lift slightly on each occasion. I have had a similar experiences when pulling heavy loads and found out that the issue is one of insufficient nose weight and adding extra front weight helps with this. Is your fuel tank right at the front of the tractor? I have found that the difference between a full tank and a near empty one can make a significant difference especially if pulling up a slope!
@SoybeanFarmer3300
@SoybeanFarmer3300 2 жыл бұрын
Dan there is no rudeness in your question it is simply a question. The answer, yes I am breaking the hardpan at the depth I'm running which puts this in the order of heavy tillage and I was foolish to even attempt having the camera in my hand. You have a keen astute eye because yes the front end of the tractor was coming up ever so slightly while I was manually working the depth of the tool. I did not fuel the tractor before going out for this test run and after looking later I found the level in the tank to be only at about a quarter filled, so there was very little weight up there. All five plow points were new and even but I did have the tool itself pitched low in the front. It took a full turn and a half on the top link to level it out and it did pull much better afterwards. Finding that Harmony between the tool and the tractor completed the testing I wanted to do so I stopped and put it away. It's always a pleasure to find you here in the comments Dan. thank you for taking the time to share your experience and knowledge here with me. 🙂☕

That angle thing with chisel plowing as well as subsoiling puts a lot of uneven stress on the tool which is actually transferred back to the load control shaft on the tractor and for that reason I don't really want to do a lot of it other than the end dressing out at the ends of the field. There is a celebration here in my heart and it's to His glory to acknowledge how He made all this come together. Clark make your way on over to the banquet table and help yourself. 🍗🍗🍗🍕🍕🍕🍔🍔🍔🌮🌮🌮🥪🥪🥪🌭🌭🌭
