The way Deniece sings this so gently and soulfully is like being caressed softly and touches the soul. What a stunning voice and singer. Very emotive and the harmonies of the family like angels from heaven. The song is so dreamy and fairytale like. One of the best songs of all time.

It's funny really.. the older I get (mid-40s now), the more I miss the 80s.. the music, the TV and movies. No social media, no hysteria over the latest "trending/viral" headline, and people just got on with things and actually interacted more. I love that Now 80s channel on Sky/Freesat UK. Now you'd know more than me here if you're researching it, but I have a few theories, one is that the mainstream U.S. record industry didn't want to invest in a band who to them were just U.K. copycats of 'the real thing', I can see their point. On the surface that's all they are but they're actually a great example of the U.K. 'returning the serve', taking something American and sending it back over with something added or changed from their own culture, even if it's just a different attitude. RnB in particular has a long, rich history of the two countries trading vibe. The other thing is I've noticed Five Star get a lot of youtube love and nostalgia from NYC, Chicago, Washington, Philadelphia, Boston, how they were big on the black and hispanic radio stations and you'd hear them on the street, out of beatboxes. I wasn't expecting that at all because in Ireland and England they were looked down on by a snobby music press as 'manufactured teeny pop'. I realise that in those urban areas of American, they're seen in the same light as say Lisa Lisa And The Cult Jam. . So they were not only too British but too 'urban' to be marketed as mainstream (consider that at exactly this time Clive Davis was literally bleaching Whitney, in his plan to make her America's new singing sweetheart). Basically racism.

3:03 that sound wa wa wa wa. I always started the next single after that when I was mixing on the wheels of steel.

Today is the first time I've heard of this song. My wife and I were on the road and this played on the radio, I'm usually very knowledgeable about songs compared to her and I was gladly surprised she knows this song while I've never heard of it before. She doesn't know the song title, good thing she knows the lyrics and I Googled and that's why I'm here. I love it, it's my new favorite.

A few years back I was at a convention and this song was playing over the PA system during one of the breaks - I had not heard it since I was a kid in the mid-80s and had totally forgotten about it. Fantastic tune that is timeless.

I'm a schoolkid again when I hear this song. I'm now 51 and have had a pretty cool life but I'd still like to go back and make some different life choices. But that will never happen, so onward I go! 80s music forever!
