Got my kit a few days ago, put it together and have been printing non stop. As others mentioned, the quick z axis move is fantastic.

@@martonyoutube No, shipping isnt the problem. They are quite slow to produce, thats what takes all the time.

I found out about all of these just from using my MK3S, I use the Z-axis all the time as I always need to clean the nozzle with my pliers (haven't even been using the nozzle long, only with regular PETG/ABS, and it leaks like *crazy* always curling inwards and getting everywhere, even mid-print).

Whoo the Z axis adjust shortcut is amazing !
@Robothut7 жыл бұрын
A great filament detector would be a rotary encoder, either optical or hall effect. That way both filament run out and filament jam could be detected. I am sure Prusa could design a 3d printed simple wheel that triggers a optical or hall effect sensor , the sensor output could be compared to the extruder stepper motor pulses for errors. Might be the ultimate filament sensor design.
@MarkWheadon7 жыл бұрын
The MK3 does all that (detect filament jams and detect run-out) - with, I believe, an optical sensor designed for use in optical mice (mouses? :-)

How do you manually move the XYZ axis in fraction of a millimiter? I'm using it to do PCBs too and when setting my own initial position, the Z is either high or too low with 1 mm.

It's just hanging on the axis with a neodymium magnet. The worst thing that can happen is that it'll fall off, so you just pick it up and put it back on again, you can't lethally entangle yourself.
@cthulpiss7 жыл бұрын
When will those be available in MK2S firmware?

As i know, filament change, PID calibration and Fast Z movement are already possible at the MK2. Bending bed ofcourse not, and didnt look for the sensor reading yet.

That is so awesome! It's making me anxious to receive my MK3. Quick question. Why are the printers labeled with "i3"
@enlightx7 жыл бұрын
it stands for iteration 3, look up early reprap printers and you will see how prusa released his early designs and he updated them a lot but major changes are iterations i personally build I2 and I3 prusa printers many years ago and i can happily say the I3 MK3 is the best printer iv built

How do I get support for a 6 week old mk3 that has failed? I purchased it from a 3rd party who is not knowledgeable and the Prusa forums are not helping me. The printer was great for the first month and printed all the prototypes we needed but now it is an expensive paperweight. Thanks.

why you dont use full graphics display? it is something about the performance of arduino? thanks in advance!
@LogicalWaste7 жыл бұрын
because they want to focus on things that help print quality. a touch screen or larger screen would cost time and money, increase unit price, and have zero effect on print quality. purely cosmetic, effectively.
@MarkWheadon7 жыл бұрын
In short: yes. The Prusa only has what it needs in terms of processing power - a simple 8 bit processor. Neither printing quality nor speed would be improved by having more grunt, so it would just make the printer more expensive.
@mamber11005 жыл бұрын
Yeah... Prusa is great. But have some problems. In new version (MK3S) power panic does not work. Printer not startig in point of break. And big problem for me - sensor don't sense filament flow. It try to sense end of filament, not flow filament. Many times my nozle is block, but pinter "printing" in air. Many hours of print is waste. But, yeah nex but... ITS REALY GREAT PRINTER
@cymond3 жыл бұрын
That's funny, I have the opposite. IIRC, Power Panic is not supposed to activate if the power switch is used, only if the power is interrupted externally, but it does on mine.

Does anyone's MK3 eject filament without catching on the top ptfe if not pulled through quickly and vigorously? Mine still catches even if I am ready to pull as it's ejecting. And if not pulled as it's hot and ejecting, the melt zone comes up, and refuses to eject if left for even a few seconds.
@MarkWheadon7 жыл бұрын
My MK2S has done that for a long time now. I just pinch off the extruder tension and pull the filament out - much quicker and works just fine. Presumably the MK3's extruder will let you do that? (Let you squeeze against the extruder tension so you can manually pull out the filament.)
@tooez73974 жыл бұрын
I'm doing everything wrong. The way I change my filament is by cutting it near the extruder lol
@mamber11005 жыл бұрын
And one more thing. Maybe in next generation You could try to do extruder like a module who we can easy on and off. Replace of nozzle or even heatblock is verry hard, when You must do this Up side Down
