That thing you said of "pinching the nostril or widening it out" is a GREAT way to look at it. That just made me understand it a LOT better!

I'm shocked you don't have more likes and views, this was so rich and full of info I needed. I always want to make sure I am sensitive to different features in cultures when I draw, and this gave me some perspective especially with making mistakes. Thanks so much for some fantastic content!

Thank you. My problem is consistency since it's just me...so there are times I have to take extended breaks because of work related obligations. I am going to try and do better though as I want to continue to give you guys the best content I can.

THANK YOU FOR THIS! I am half black half white (but lightskinned enough to convince some people that I'm white), and I've never fully thought about the differences in nose shapes or that nose shape can be an ethnic feature. Watching this has made me realize why I have such a hard time drawing my own face, and it's because I don't know how to draw my own god damn nose. This video and a few others (plus how you just generally draw a lot of black folks with ethnic features) has also made me realize that I actually have a lot more black features than I thought, and that's probably why people say I look like my (Black) dad, or, randomly enough, older Black women can immediately tell I'm mixed. This has actually been somewhat reassuring, since I've been feeling insecure in my Blackness for many years now. So knowing that I have these features and that my nose isn't "weird" and "ugly" like I thought, but is actually an aspect of my race is a really nice feeling. So thanks for this video and your education on how to properly capture these ethnic features that barely anyone bothers to teach.

Thank you so much for such a detailed video! I can look back at my old artworks and finally realize what I did wrong. This is really helpful, I really love the tip regarding the nostril/comma thing, and also the contour part. I think it's safe to say all your advice are beyond helpful in encouraging many artists (me for one) in broadening their art skills. Much appreciation and thanks.

Well, between your video on lips and this one, I hope to improve my mastery on ethnics features and avoid drawing characters looking like old-timey caricatures, so, thanks !

I thought it would be dumb to restrain myself to drawing only white people. But I want to draw correctly. Thing is, EDUCATION !! I'm in art school and not once in academic drawing we had a non white model... it's sad. I'll ask my teacher if they could hire someone else than Karen from Finance...

Diversity in models for figure drawing is very much needed. Good luck with encouraging your professor.
