He hinges on the word "if", but in Greek that word is used as a first class conditional, and has meaning of the word since, almost every time. Eternal security is in fact what it sounds like. Eternal security. Once eternally secure, you will be eternally, secure. God does not want us to fear hell or operate in our faith based on a reward system such as making sure we feel in line,this produces legalism! That is just every other religion nothing different! The whole point is that we do work for god BECAUSE we are already accepted, not to stay accepted. Foolish. Do your study.

The problem I have with this interpretation is the following: This scripture's purpose is saying, IF one falls and the other brings him back, THEN he will have saved his soul from hell. However, this interpretation is saying, IF one falls, then God WILL bring him back. So I feel like this interpretation is changing the original meaning a bit

+Simon Botte You can love by God while polishing apples, you can sing praises to God to show your love as well as loving people he has put in your way, and some do worship in tongues and are not demon-possessed. I have never done it, but I will not deny the experiences of those who are truly saved and have gone through that. God bless.

Simon Botte I am sorry but you are wrong. Yes, there sadly are bigots but Christians are called to love God first and then others through God's love but when the Bible says something is wrong in the Old Testament and it is declared wrong in the New Testament it is wrong. Those laws do not discriminate they follow the Bible and what cultural anthropology has stated about marriage in every society that has been studied in the past, that it has always been between one man and one woman, even in societies that practiced polygamy. Even Jesus said what is marriage in Matthew and Mark quoting from Genesis. I hate no one. Everyone has failing the law, only Jesus saves us from the curse of the law, if we repent of our sins (whatever they be) and accept Jesus as our personal Savior (Rescuer) and sovereign Lord of our lives. Merry Christmas.

dwhite2173 He did listen to what he said. You are correct that there are people who claim to be elected but indeed were not and were false, which is one of the soils in the Parable of the Sower. God will give endurance to those who are elected until the end of either their lives or the end of the age. God bless.

Simon Botte I am not wrong, you are the one who has sadly been misled by the pro-homosexuality teachers that you follow and not Jesus. Jesus condemned homosexuality, it is considered part of sexual immorality, he was not vague when he said it. I am not lying and I am not deceiving. First of all, I hate what the Westboro cult does as much as you. They sadden me. They hate Jews, Muslims, and homosexuals, I do none of those things. I never said Jesus abolished the law, I never said that. Jesus came not to abolish the Law and the Prophets but to fulfil them and how dare you compare me to the radical, Islamic extremists. If you have been hurt by so-called Christians who called you names, I am deeply sorry but understand I love you and the Bible is clear in both the Old and New Testament that it is wrong. If it was ok, God would have mentioned in the Old Testament that it was ok and he would have mentioned in the New Testament that it is ok, but nowhere does he say it is okay. Jesus loves you and I love you. Please recant this false teaching that you have devoured and been misled by. Repent (turn away from your sins whatever they are), accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and sovereign Lord, that he died on the cross for your sins because he loved you and to take the death penalty that your sins deserved, and that he rose from the dead on the third day. Hope you had a Merry Christmas. God bless. Have a beautiful day!

Again... seriously.... do you know what they all do, when they cannot explain or reconcile a verse that contradicts their doctrine?... They talk about it a little bit, without clearing it out, then, they go to their verses that support their theology, AND VOILA!!! ... and it ends up like: -- " On the surface, the verse appears to say that you can loose your salvation, but you can know you are secure because of my verses that I stamped in your face" ... and nothing is reconciled... all calvinists are false teachers... they understand nada about the new covenant...

When he's speaking about a Sinner, that's the UNSAVED. NOT a wandering Saint. We that are saved are never referred to as Sinners again. Those he's speaking to are the ones that have chewed the good news but spit it out and went back to their old ways. They never ingested / received Salvation to begin with. They walked away from the truth. The work that JESUS begat and finishes is the daily atonement of sin. Not keeping us in chains of good works.

Thats the mission of the eagle from the far east to gather all the tribes... The one who listen obey and follow wil surely inherit an everlasting life and to those who dont listen to the messenger will lose his life and regret it when judgementday comes and judge everyone from their sins.... Wicked people will die in their flesh and be thrown in the lake of fire the survivors in the last days will inherit the kingdom forevermore they will never see death.........

M. Piper, do you think Phi 1:6 could be applied to the galatians? Is it what Paul told them too? "Hey galatians, you can go back to the law, God will complete His work in you. You can get circumcised, and Christ will always be of use to you, and you never fall from grace"? The galarians were saved btw... you cannot claim they were not sealed. Can A Christian Lose Their Salvation? *The question is flawed* because it presumes the Christian is "saved." ⚫ None of us will be saved - saved from ever perishing in death - until we actually receive the gift of eternal life. Unless we receive eternal life we'll perish in death, losing everything. We do not receive eternal life until our resurrection at Jesus' return, as Paul explained in 1 Corinthians 15:42-54 and 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17. Meanwhile in this present mortal life we have "the hope of salvation" and are appointed "to obtain" salvation and "shall be saved" . . . in the future. We have the *promise* of eternal life. Here are quotes from Paul, Peter and John: "But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ." (Paul, in 1 Thessalonians 5:8,9. Did Paul tell them they _had been_ saved?) "But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they." (Acts 15: 11; Peter, speaking to apostles and elders about future salvation for both themselves and Gentiles. Did Peter tell them they _had been_ saved?) "And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life" (1 John 2:25). ⚫ In this present mortal life we may be *justified* or reconciled to God. We will not be saved until we transition from mortal to immortal at the resurrection at Jesus' return. Justification and salvation are different things, at different times. Here's Paul, again: "Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him." (Paul, in Romans 5:9) So, how do we enter justification? How can we be reconciled to God? Our sins have separated us from God (Isaiah 59:1,2) and have earned death, the "wages" of sin (Romans 6:23). We need mercy: we need forgiveness and redemption from the death penalty already earned. We are promised mercy in Proverbs 28:13: "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." That's repentance: confessing and forsaking sin. If we'll obey and repent, our _past_ sins (2 Peter 1:9, Romans 3:25) will be "blotted out" and we'll have redemption from the death penalty already earned. Jesus made that redemption possible when He gave His life to make a ransom payment available (Matthew 20:28). Thank you, Jesus. In repentance - with the sins that separated us erased, and no longer under condemnation - we are reconciled or justified to God. We can enter a new life - a "time of refreshing" - in "the presence of the Lord," through the holy spirit: "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord" (Acts 3:19, NKJV). Note: Our sins were not blotted out or erased or paid for when Jesus died on the cross. Our sins will not be blotted out until we repent of them. When Jesus died on the cross He made His death available as a payment of our death penalty. We can have redemption, by grace, from the death penalty we've earned if we'll obey and come to repentance, turning from sin that earns the death penalty. Without repentance we receive no mercy, no grace and no redemption: we'll pay _our own_ death penalty. That's why Jesus warned, "except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:5). Connecting a few dots: God "now commands all men everywhere to repent" (Acts 17:30). God gives His spirit "to them that obey him" (Acts 5:32). "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost" (Acts 2:38). Through the holy spirit we enter "the presence of the Lord" and can start a new life - a "time of refreshing." Jesus' work is not finished: He is at work right now: "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent" (Jesus, in Revelation 3:19). A relationship with Him "yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby" (Hebrews 12:11). "Through him" (Romans 5:9) we are made fit, ready, to be saved: to receive the gift of eternal and to inherit the kingdom of God (1 Cor 15:50). ⚫ So, is it possible to return to a life of sin and no longer be justified to God? Absolutely; we have free will. We can leave the narrow way that leads to life. The New Testament is full of warnings not to "fall away" (Hebrews 6:6; Luke 8:13) and not to "fail of the grace of God" (Hebrews 12:15) and to "give diligence to make our calling and election sure" (2 Peter 1:10,11). Here are a few more: "Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it" (Hebrews 4:1). "If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us" (2 Timothy 2:12). "For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire" (2 Peter 2:20-22). The apostle Paul understood that even after preaching to others, he himself could become a "castaway": "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway" (1 Corinthians 9:27). "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned" (Jesus, in John 15:6). "But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers" (Jesus, in Luke 12:45,46). Once saved, always saved? Apparently not! That servant had returned to sin, was no longer justified to God and was going to pay for his sins himself. Jesus did not tell His disciples to preach "faith alone" or "faith + nothing = salvation" or "just trust Jesus." He told them to preach repentance and remission of sins: "Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." (Luke 24:45-47)

I knew the second i saw all that mental gymnastics you posted ... That you would end up saying salvation by faith is not enough. As if Jesus's death on the cross was not sufficient enough to save us .... we have to add on to that more works. Just know that by believing you have to do good works to be saved, you are still in debt You believe the grace of God, Jesus alone dying on the cross for your sins, was not enough to wipe you clean of sins past present future Romans 4:4-5 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness

@TheBibleSays
@TheBibleSays 3 жыл бұрын
@@frankcrawford416 No, actually, and I'm not a spider. An _honest, real_ pastor will tell people the salty truth -not the usual sugar-coated, ear-tickling lies. Which of the warnings I quoted - from scripture - do you doubt? Do the following warnings mean *_anything_* to you? ⚫ "Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it" (Hebrews 4:1). ⚫ "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (Jesus, in John 15:6) ⚫ "Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off." (Romans 11:22) Salvation is through grace. Who gets the grace? Those who follow directions, obeying by coming to God on His terms - in repentance - confessing and forsaking sin. (Acts 17:30; Prov 28:13; Acts 3:19). Jesus is ⚫ "the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him" (Hebrews 5:9) Outside of repentance we receive no mercy and will perish. Jesus warned: ⚫ "except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:5) Peter makes it clear: come to repentance, or else perish: ⚫ "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)

+Cas Smith What about all the verses that do tell us we are justified by works and faith without works is dead? What about all the verses that talk about salvation being contingent upon repentance? I too am very confused on these matters and I have yet to see ONE person EVER be able to unify all the verses into one applicable thing. It seems as though you can only choose between one side or another. Sinless perfection vs Easy believism. Works justification vs faith Justification. Commandment keeping vs spirit of the law. God help us!
@willtrekkie
@willtrekkie 8 жыл бұрын
+Suge212 It helps to take the verses that you mentioned above in context and it shows that you are not saved by the works you do but by trusting in Jesus Christ and as a result of that faith doing good works, otherwise your faith is dead without works. God bless. Sinless perfection (is not biblical), Easy believism (is not biblical). We are not justified by works but by faith in Jesus Christ). We cannot keep the Ten Commandments perfectly, but when we do love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and love our neighbor as ourself, we are following the one who did not break any of the Ten Commandments. The spirit of the law is what the new covenant is about, we are no longer under the old covenant. Hebrews helps to understand this. God bless.
@gatzu8599

@@Suge212 James 2, "faith without works is dead", is about justification before our fellow man-kind Example: James 2:15-17 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. So faith without works being dead means faith alone will not do anything for our fellow mankind Faith without works will not put clothes on a fellow naked brother or sister. Faith without works will not give food to a fellow hungry brother or sister... You need works along with faith to help our brothers and sisters. *But....* the question now is, what justify us before God? *Romans 4:2-6* *2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.* (Man is certainly justified by works, not by faith alone. Our works hath whereof to glory ..... but NOT before God), *3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness* *4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.* *5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness* *6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without work*
