Thank You for taking the time to make your show. I bought the unit for my 09 vw rabbit. My questions are before I install it is the pink/black and blue wire should be B-Connect off so they don't short. Since i don't have a build in phone. I am going to link my phone via bluetooth. Plus I don't have a power entenna. lastly should i disconnect a fuse or battery. I wire the power speaker harness to the Apline harness already. Thanks Kevin

Yes the steering wheel controls will work with an add on interface like the Pac-Audio swi-rc. Head over to Bestkits.com for a list of other parts you will need.

just had this HU installed, sounds very good, clear and NOT fiteeging on the ears at all sound levels, i think alpine is the safe bet. i know i spelled that wrong

Hey, would I have any problems playing spotify through this head unit with Bluetooth? Also I have decided on this unit as I find to get a touch screen of similar quality would cost a lot more. Would you recommend any other head units around this price or is this pretty damn good for what it is. Great vids by the way informative a funny :D

This guy is pretty bad ass for sure. You can do any music service you want over Bluetooth. For the price, and it is not cheap, there really is nothing else out there with this feature set. Get it, thank you.

Hi , i'm planning to add a new stereo for the car. I have an Alpine mrx-f35 amplifier Focal PS 165 component speakers MTX RT10AS subwoofer Also planning to buy a rear speaker (focal PC 165) Can i connect the subwoofer to the Alpine CDE W265BT? and power the rear speaker to the Alpine mrx-f35 amplifier ? Please suggest, thanks in advance

No the the radio can not power a subwoofer but you can use the radio to power the rear speakers. You could alway get the matching sub amp.

Would it still make sense to use the alpine power pack amp if this already has a small amp? I'm not running sub's I just want a little extra noise.

The new amp in this guy is pretty sweet. If you are just running coax speakers I would say no, but if you are running separates then yes. Thanks

Can you install this unit in a 2004 infiniti i35 and use the existing speakers and amp? The car comes with a stock bose system (bose head unit, bose speakers and bose amp). I'm looking to upgrade the sound system in my daughter's car without going overboard.

Funny just did one yesterday. You will need 99-7609g dash kit, 71-7550 wire harness, and baa9 antenna adapted. You can keep all the BOSE stuff in place and just add the new radio. Thank you for the question.

Ok that is a good one. If you are planning on doing Bluetooth audio, you are going to want the Kenwood. If you need network mode you will want the Alpine. They both have a great Equalizers and xovers.

+Nathan Carlile yes Bluetooth work on both. Standard mode is for a front, rear, and sub combination. Network mode is if you are going to do 1-set of tweeters, 1-set of mid range, and a sub. There is no rear in network mode.

No sorry this one does not have a detachable face. The CDE-164BT is the same radio in a single din with a detachable face.

CD players are pretty much like 8 track stereo systems these days. Just d Saying, I'd rather have a Stereo system that woks like a high-tech iPhone. No CD player, maybe with the options for GPS. Just an idea. Not being negative. Thanks for sharing. By the way, What company is the best for installing alpine steroids systems in St. Louis MO. ???

Troy Bond I agree with the no CD, unfortunately people keep buying them. Even though they will never use them they are afraid to be with out. Because of this manufactures keep making them. Sorry I wish had a recommendation for you.

The CD provides a high quality signal that you can listen to anywhere. If you want a car stereo to be like a phone than buy one or two portable Bluetooth speakers and use your phone. I have two Sony XB-10 speakers that sound great and can fit in a cup holder.

I wasn't aware of any updates for these radios. The update section on these radios is only for future Bluetooth compatibility. What is the version number you are trying to up date to?

I have this exact headunit and I don't really know how to tune everything on it. I have 2 after mark speakers in the front door and a 15 inch sub. I notice there's a setting that you can turn the sub up to +15. I like to keep it at 10, I can turn the volume up higher the less I put it, but if I have it at less than +5 then I barely hear my sub. What exactly does this feature do, and do you have any advice on which certain settings to tweak so my bass can get louder?
