My avh-4200 just went out. Had it for a year. They said the firmware upgrade was done in August and I didn't know Who knows to check k for firmware upgrades. Anyway...I just bought this 4500 for my Denali. Cant wait to hook this thing up. Looks like a great upgrade. Same.wire.connextuons so set up should be simple. Your videos always are on point . Thanks. I like the plugs dint go directly in the back of the radio. Makes install way easier.

Personally I feel that these double din stereos should be upgraded every 2 years in our cars. Just sell your current stereo , add some cash on top and buy a same year stereo.

My Samsung Galaxy S8+ does try to connect wirelessly with the 4500NEX. Google maps seem to pop up on my screen. After a bit I get a message about a poor connection with the phone. I may try keeping it closer?? I did use a wire to first hook my phone up to it....to try the Android Auto. Wired was how I was going to use it.

@@timh3327 Loving it and I'm probably not using it to its full potential. Someone more knowledgeable may be able to fine tune it more. Not that it sounds bad by any means, just knowing my limitations. I would not pay extra for the map feature since you can connect with your phone anyway.

I purchased a car with this radio already installed. The thing that I am having problems with is that every time I turn the car on, I have to put the radio and my iPhone on search mode to find each other, it doesn’t happen automatically, which drives me insane. The radio shows the phone of the previous owner and I have tried to delete it but to no avail.

I've got one of these and it's been great. Just had some major transmission work (i.e. battery was disconnected for duration) and now the unit seems to forget which track I was listening too after every shutdown/startup. Tried the factory reset button, SD/USB reformats and different track options. No luck. Any thoughts?

Does the dmh have better resolution? I installed a 2660nex and it looks clearer than the 4500nex. I'm just assuming this from the videos I've watched. I haven't seen the 4500nex in person.

Mostly the same features but the dmh lost automatic time alignment, only has one usb c input, and no cd/dvd player. It does however have a capacitive touch screen, and an updated interface with widgets and a web browser.

I ended up getting a RF 600X5. It’s 729 rms. I think I need a different sub. I tried to take advantage of the center rear deck location with a 4ohm dvc 8” power bass wired for 2ohms. Problem is that the amp clips really bad when the volume is up and the bass kicks in. I’ve tried tweaking it here and there (sub level at head unit, eq, amp gain, punch eq, and bass knob) I always have to chase a good bass response. Any suggestions?

Do I have to connect the pink wire (VSS/Vehicle Speed Signal) to use Android Auto Wireless/Apple CarPlay? It's not the radio that has the guidelines it's the backup camera that you have.

By the same token, if you otherwise like the 4400 you might be able to have parking assist lines by switching to a camera that has them. It should be less expensive than changing head unit's.

Hey guys, I have an AVH 4400 Pioneer double din. I also have a 2018 JL Wrangler sport without Alpine. Head unit is said not to fit (too deep). Question is can I make it fit by cutting something in particular or anything that you know, because this thing cost me a lot of money and I got everything I need including data links so I would really like to get it into my Wrangler. @@Camaro45th Thanks for your comments. Neither for me its worth the $200 price difference that the 4500 has over the 4400, and probably will increase as the 4400 enters more a clearance process. Things that would matter for me, a better screen, a better cpu, better interface and menus, even quality of audio, etc.

If you play through your phone, your phone handles the processing as opposed to using the USB drive, which depends on the headunit processor. So the phone will be smoother.

Has anyone had troubles with notifications amd texts not showing up on screen? My s10 worked perfectly then I switched to an s21 and it quit working. I tried different apps, I have all permissions allowed on my phone, tried a factory reset on the head unit, there is no firmware update. Any ideas??? This is pretty important feature for keeping eyes on the road!

It is for the wireless CarPlay and AndroidAutos Navi feature. It uses the Pioneer antenna instead of the phones because the phone may be in your pocket or bag

Hey guys. I see no real substantial benefit of the 4500 over the 4400. Is it even worth the price difference? I'm also comparing the 9905s and 8905s to the Pioneer units. Can you give an opinion on which you prefer since you've had both the Pioneer and Kenwood installed in your personal car? I've had better sound quality in my phone calls on my previous Nex units and have had issues with call quality in Kenwood's in the past.

If your basing your decision on phone call sound quality then stay with Pioneer. If you want an unclipped 5 volt preamp signal to run an aftermarket system with a superior capacitive screen then go with Kenwood.

That is the big difference. The other differences is in the eq, it now as save setting and network mode. On the back end they finally added the audio grade components.
