So what if I have front and rear tweeters in the factory system as well but no amp and no subwoofer but I'm going to be adding both. Basically I have 2018 Honda Accord sport and I'm going to be installing JL component speakers in the front and rear powered by a 4 channel amp and then installing a 8" JL powered Microsub. When I go to feed the signal to the LC7I do I pull front for channel 1 and rear for channel 2 or do I pull tweeters for channel 1 and mids for channel 2?

Question: why did the RTA show roll off on the very low freq when switched between the rear out put and the sub output. The RTA showed and very flat signal on the front and rear out pits but the sub just dropped off. I noticed when you turned up AccuBASS the lowest leveles came up but it was now level output was way to high in the upper sub freq range. Is there a way to keep the sub freq flat like it was in the front and rear channels and keep the sub channel just as flat? Hope I explained it well.

Thank you.
@zoomgh0st5 ай бұрын
You're supposed to get signal for the lc7i from factory wiring such as front and back. If you have an oem amp, you get signal from output side of oem amp. Additionally you can get front signal from front doors for main in 1 of lc7i, rear signal in from rear door speakers to channel 2 in of lc7i, then out to front, rear and channel 3 out of lc7i to aftermarket sub amp.

Hi guys I am writing from Australia. Thanks for all yours post I have been learning a lot. I know you don't have this model of car in USA, but should be the same thing as in other cars. I have a Toyota Fortuner 2016 and want to use the oem or factory radio but I want to install a 5 channel jl audio HD900/5. Which LOC you recommend to use ( LC7i ) or maybe other brand ? How can I get the signal for the sub woofer If I only have 4channles front speaker and rear speakers. You have already showed me how to do it. But I saw the configuration that you did in Introduction to AudioControl's LC7i part 2 "how to do 2 way summing plus subwoofer". My question will be, Can I do some kind of the same configuration like separate the signal High, Medium and low? I am going to put in the front and rear Alpine SPR-60C 6.5" TYPE R Component Speakers. Thanks for your help. Cheers!

It sounds like you want to do a 3 way active crossover system. To do that you really only need a left and right output from the radio. You could use the Lc2i and go into a 5 channel amp that has the crossover ability to do that. Phoenix Gold makes the Ti2 1600.5 that works great for that type of install.
@mrcc138 жыл бұрын
Hi guys thanks for your answer. Sorry I am not a professional installer, I just need to understand a few things. I know you are very busy but if you could explain me a little bit more in detail I will be grateful for ever. The stereo of the cars comes with four pair of wires (8 wires): Two pair’s front (Right and Left side) and two pairs Rear (Right and Left side). I was watching the picture LC2i and it comes with two speakers input. How Can I connect everything? If you could provide me a diagram it will be easier to understand (mrcc13@gmail.com). Also, the output exit is one in theory because the other one it will go directly to the sub woofer line rca in the amplifier. It means that only left one RCA output exit. I need to buy a simple RCA with double RCA at the end? To go the outputs of the LC2i to the inputs in the amplifier front (L-R) and Rear (L-R)? Thanks for all your help and sorry for the troubles!!!

I get it, I get it.... I don't get it... :-) Hello, and thank you for your time and efforts! 2006 Nissan Titan Crew Cab. Factory head with 6 disc changer, NON-Fosgate - no Sub. Replacing in dash tweeters, front door and rear door speakers with Infinity REF series. I plan on mounting LC7i under driver seat, as well as an amp with sub channel. How am I getting signal to the LC7i? Am I to keep original factory speaker connections? Am I replacing wires, or tapping into whats already run? Am I running new wires from amp to speakers? I see the block diagram: Radio Head Unit, to LC7i, to AMP, to Speakers. Then I hear youn say all signals into one? Then I see you connect your visual meter to each of three outputs. No one has had a video on a full install that I can find to help my feeble mind wrap around this stuff. Anything you can throw my way to help me understand would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Guys! David

So for you I would go by the BHA 7550 and the BHO 7550 reverse harness. This way you can make a nice "t" harness going to your radio. You will run the front inputs into main on the LC. Run the rears into input 2 on the LC. This will automatically create a sub output for input 3. Run the 3 RCAs out to your amps. Run your amps output the speakers input on the "t " harness. Basically you will make it a plug and play.
@dmain378 жыл бұрын
Hi Dean, OK, I think I do get it now... Pull the factory plugs from the back of the factory head unit. Take the Metra 70-7550 Wiring Harness now going to be plugged into the head unit, and make really long extensions to all wires to run from head unit to under the seat and attach to the LC7i. Plug short RCA cables from LC7i into amp for front and rear, run power out from LC7i to amp, and run longer RCA to sub under rear seat (does a sub only have one connection, then?). Add really long extensions to Metra Reverse Wiring Harness 71-7550, connected to output of amp back to head unit and connect its plug to the original head unit plug pulled at first step. Does all that sound right? When I searched for BHA and BHO, Metra always came up, so direct me to correct if needed. Thanks! (my head hurts a little.... :-) )

Yeah you got it. The Metra harness will do the trick, they are the same. This way no cut harness.

@FiveStarCarStereoInc8 жыл бұрын
If the Kia is a base model stereo, then the dash and front speakers should be in parallel. The LC7i would be the right choice for this install. I would get a 4 channel amp and power everything from the amp ( dash and all speakers). Yes it goes radio- LC- amp- speaker. I hope this helps some.

I have a 2009 be Jetta without a premium sound system. The plan is to replace the main 4 door speakers with NVX VSP65 both front and rear with a pioneer GM-D8604 to power them and for bass I am using a Rockford P300-10. Would I need to leave the automode on, run the front into ch1, rears into ch2 and would ch3 provide me with a clean output to run my P300-10 cleanly? If not would there be another way to set up the jumpers internally to have ch3 as dedicated bass output? Additionally would you recommend the lc6i or lc7i based on the above.

@FiveStarCarStereoInc8 жыл бұрын
+jdoggy314 here is our steps for tuning. First check the Phase on all the speakers to make sure there are none backwards. you can get an app on you phone or a phase checker on Amazon for $8.00(search-Black-Speaker-Polarity-Tester)Next- turn all the level and gain to there lowest settings, make sure Bass and Treble are 0, and unplug the RCA's to the amps. Then get a pink noise generator ( on your phone or disc)and play it in the radio with the volume 3/4 of the way up. If you have access to a SMD-DD1 you can use that for a more accurate volume level. Next turn up the output levels on the LC7i until the Maximized light starts to flicker, it is best for it to stay off altogether. Now turn the volume down, remove the pink noise and plug in the highs amp rca only. Play some music you know well, set the Xover on the amp to your liking. Check sound at all levels if you feel you need more Gain you can add some but I would not go past a 1/4. Turn it back down and plug in the sub amp, repeat previous steps. Make sure the blend is good with small adjustment to gain or levels( Maximized light will come on with music, it is OK). Play multiple types of music for best performance. Enjoy.
