I think the 2s system is the sweet spot for this 1/10 scale trucks. I never understand the appeal for 50mph 1/10s trucks. After 40, they became uncontrollable, and there is no way you can enjoy them at 50mph on rought terrain without breaking it.

Idk man once you have an erevo that breaks 80 on 8s with belted 3.8 tires it’s hard to have something smaller than 3s

Hope your buddy loves the hobby! My 4 year old 2wd slash has only ever broken the rear bearing carrier and then I upgraded, never an issue on that truck. I run 4s 70mph and crash… no breakage. It’s crazy

Got this truck for the hd parts on it put my vxl system in it and used the 2s system on another car just missed the battery bundle tho im sad about that😂

Y’all should check out the hot racing sway bar kit. Super durable even if you’re bashing and it’s a night and day difference keeping it planted. You can get it to drift on hard surfaces pretty good with the right tires. Figure 8 racing in parking lots is super fun
