Another thing for the clutch sound, after starting the bike in the morning, press and release the clutch for 4/5 times without putting it into any gear. You can feel the difference. I use this mechanism since my classic 500 days.

Hi Ben, thank you for making this video, it's really helpful, my bike is almost 10k kms and the service centre people say it's the common thing in Himalayans..

I agree with you totally that the Himalayan is the best bike that you can own.its like a Jonga.old fashioned but strong and rugged.saying all this from experience.Mine's a 2016-BS3 with a carb but all major parts of BS4.kept it in super duper mint condition(done 18k kms in 8 yrs).My pride and joy.Price wise a steal compared to today's rates and no riff raff like EFI.ABS.etc.giving it the best Motul.nitro in tyres.BS6 RR unit etc.

Thanks for this I tried following the same things you mentioned in the old video and it worked amazingly. The important thing for me to realize was it takes some time to settle I got to identify the improvements after 3000km(which you didn't mention in your old video :( ) but as a new rider it was very worrying initially with hard shift and clutch problems compared to other bikes where it was very smooth and also the price of Himalayan.

Hola, quiero decirte que la solución es hacer pequeños orificios de 2 milímetros al rededor de la circunferencia de la prensa, para que el aceite entre en los discos de manera fluida y los lubrique fácilmente

Had the same issue on my new himi, its a squeaking sound like brakes when wet. Was a Problem with not round running clutch which is easy to see thrue the oil fill cap. Just turn the wheel an you see the metal plate with the springs wobbeling around. Got a new clutch and this runs round and no sounds any more...... And yes it sounds like a squealing brakedisk becaus it can not grab right when wobbeling around. The grip thind did not help. I can send you a video from the clutch.

Hi Ben, Thanks for your video. Recently i bought a 2023 model Himalayan & in less then 10 days I went for a ride close to 600km & gave for a first service. Where I found gear shifting & clutch grabbing issues. Again I left my Himalayan to service centre. 1. Just want to know is it good to go for a long ride before first service. 2. Excess oil will cause gear shifting issues ?
@felixklages18933 ай бұрын
In many cases, the cause is worn-out engine oil and condensate. Look for oil at the filler neck, check with your finger.
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 ай бұрын
Yes I agree it is a possibility, but not here in India ( most parts of) because of a unusually warm temperature throughout the year . Also people here use their bikes to commute daily and so the chances of condensation reduces greatly.

Hey, nice channel and info. I just purchased the Hunter 350 here in Indonesia. I have the only Royal for thousands of miles so info is hard to come by, maybe you can help. The number one issue I have is the clutch engagement point, it is very narrow. The clutch is smooth, quiet nice shifts but again the engagement uses like 10% of the lever movement, my Hondas and Yamahas use 30-40%, this is what a nice, wide engagement clutch should feel like. Is this a Royal thing or are the new 350s clutches are just poorly designed (too much clutch basket movement vs clutch lever movement). I know we have different bikes but you might have some insight to this. Thx in advance.

My BS6 2021 shifts hard and nothing I tried helps. Mostly during downshifts from 5th downward, the lever clicks half way and stops, then with force it passes the point of restriction and with force slowly drops into gear. The shifting is best described as feeling crunchy and forced. This comes and goes. one gear up or down it will do it and the next it is fine. The bike began doing this at 13,500 km. I have done the clutch adjustment, the gear lever adjustment and tying the clutch lever with no change at all. I am wondering if it is in the transmission. The shifting problem makes the bike no fun to ride at all. I am often hitting the lever with my foot at stop lights trying to get it into gear, and my foot aches after any time on the bike. I find myself no longer wanting to ride it at all.

its a simple fix. pls take the bike to the dealer and get your shift cog replaced.
@danielben-avraham1539 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your reply, from the bottom of my heart. My wife and I have been super depressed with this bike, one failure after another, and like she said, it has so many good qualities. My last bike was a Honda Goldwing, so I take great care of my bikes and have not abused this bike at all. What would cause the shift cog to go bad? Is there anything I can do to avoid it going bad? Also I am terrified to bring the bike to the dealer. The last time I brought it in for the continual stalling issue, they insisted that they had to adjust the valves and change oil and lube the chain. I got the bike back and the stalling is much worse, the engine vibrates terribly now and the oil window was solid black due to them failing to drain the old oil and just adding one extra quart. My wife asked what the clunking sound was and it was the chain. It had about 2" of play. Then I checked the valves and they were super tight, the exhaust was 0.I5mm and the intake had zero play so I cannot say what it is. Ben, I am truly afraid that if I bring it back into the dealer for anything technical, they will absolutely destroy the bike. Your channel is the only thing keeping me from selling my bike and buying a Vstrom 250. I hope RE is treating you well. I love the Himmy, but if I can't ride it, what good is it?
@danielben-avraham1539 Жыл бұрын
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN Which cog? Are we talking about the individual gear cogs. Looking at the RE manual, I see "gear first driven", second driven etc.Are these the cogs you are referring to? I really want to understand clearly what you are saying because I have to translate this info into Spanish for the RE shop. Pretty complicated. If you could please give me more info to go on, otherwise, these people are likely to say they replaced the shift cog and do absolutely nothing as usual. I am also thinking that I might have to break into the transmission myself and simply buy the parts through RE.

Hello ben, i've been using Himalayan BS6 2021 model since last May 2021 and ever since i've got my hands on my bike, there's been a noise on the left front side of the bike every time i'm making a turn, it happens 3-4 times a day since i bought the bike. RE service centres told me its a clutch issue i tried everything like starting the bike and keeping it idle for like 5 mins and yet i still have the nose. The noise is loud (very loud) like everyone just turns their heads to see where that noise came from and i can feel it on my hands when i am grabbing the handle and turning, it sounds like two metal rustic plates rubbing into each other. I hope you read this message and respond, would love your thoughts on this
