Can't see your desktop icons? No? well fear not, I will show you how to repair missing desktop icons. This is a super easy fix and I will show you step by step on how resolved missing desktop icons in Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7 and older versions of windows.

You saved my life man!!! I would consider my self as someone with a decent amount of technical knowledge. But I was just unable to fix it. Nothing worked, resetting the icon settings, cleared the icon cache. All my windows pre-installed icons where gone and trying to open the control panel or explorer just displayed a blank screen. Even after botting windows from the recovery point didn't change it(at this point I wanted to give up). But the cmd command worked and after the restart, I was all back in place. So thanks for your help, you saved me a lot of time, effort, and frustration. THX! (Sorry for potential grammar mistakes, I'm from Germany ;) )

Thanks Brian. This worked at 4:00 1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator. 2. type "sfc /scannow" and press enter. 3. Then wait until the scanning is done. 4. After the scanning is done, go ahead and Restart your Computer.
