04-10-2024 it freaking works 🥹 My throttle has been fluctuating for like 2 months and I’ve been tryna make due (not trying to spend anymore money). But last night the brake pedal started doing some real weird ish and I was like aight time to take it apart. Lo and behold my pedals were HELLA DIRTY on the inside. Perks of living with a stylist all types of thread and hair and dust. Cleaned it, did the alcohol thing with the silver pieces, put it back together and boom like new baby 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Thank you bro I know this video is old but I wish you and all reading the best. (5-27-2024 edit) it’s fluctuates again at the top of throttle making it difficult again. But there is a decent solution. When you open it next time or not(you can use this method even without taking it apart) spay it with some contact cleaner. I used wd-40 electrical cleaner. NOT REGULAR WD-40 that will mess it up. Use any contact cleaner for electronics. This will help immensely 👍🏾 spray the silver portion (potentiometers) and enjoy 🙏🏾

This works okay for a while but the problem will return. To achieve a long term result the potentiometers need to be removed, dismantled and cleaned with a circuit board cleaner and cotton bud. Then a light layer of dialectric grease (non electrically conductive grease) needs to be applied to the contact mating surfaces. This will greatly extend the life of the potentiometers and give trouble free operation for quite some time. I did this six months ago and have had no trouble since.

What if you spray it like every once in a week or a month? Will the problem keep returning more often or something?

@@muhammadrazzanputra8121 I started off doing that but it reaches a point where spraying doesn't work anymore. The contact surfaces wear down and get dirty. So the best option is to dismantle, clean thoroughly and apply a light coat of dialectic grease.

This is the best answer cause i sprayed maybe couple of times. Each time the effect was less. Last time it only took 2-3 days to flicker again. Deadzone is not working too cause some flickers are reaching 50%. I have this problem both in my brake and throttle. I think i need to dismantle it. I'm afraid of broking it but it's not playable like this. Especially in iracing. DRS closing in straights.

@ just logitech being shit man im in same situation. had them apart so many times, i use half pedal travel to aid this and still have flickering. after 2 years, ive bit the bullet, get some different pedals dude, logitech is fucking garbage.

I have a second hand G27 which had a decent amount of dust and animal hair in when I opened it to make quietening and brake mods. Cleared it all out but some must have got to the potentiometers because they were jittering or dragging afterwards. This video solved that problem for me. I prefer to route the cables into the little clip channels on the upper plastic casing though. That would be easier if you do the box trick (flip the unit upside down and sit it with the pedals inside a box and the plastic resting around the edge), then remove all screws and base plate so you have only the upper plastic and individual pedals sitting within it.

Hi, I watched this clip one night, I noticed that the accelerator pedal sometimes flickered and it was annoying to play. I looked at this tutorial as I didn't have a special solution and I came up with engine oil and it works perfectly!

Yes!! I found out mine had this problem during a race, when the car just wasn't keeping up with the lap times, it seemed to be slower on the straights... then I discovered the brake was ghosting and that made me slower. I'm happy to help!

I had this issue with my brake pedal since I bought my G29. I sent it back a couple of times to fix it during warranty, but they sent it back saying it works perfectly fine. So I used the clutch pedal as brake for years. I followed your method and now it works as it should have been in the first place. Thank you very much!

Thanks so much dude. My accelerator was flickering and making drifting impossible. I dabbed some metholated spirits on the motor with toilet paper while pumping the throttle and the accuracy came back within minutes. Great stuff!

I used a spray can of electrical contact cleaner. I sprayed it into the pots while pushing the pedal. Fixed it right away.

Hey guys, if this didnt work for you, then try taking off the pedals and deep clean it all. Then remove dust and shit, and then spray some WD40 in those small circles on the side of the pedal, into the small gap. That fixed it for me!

This actually worked, brake pedal acted as half a clutch and clutch was not responding at all, squirted some alchohol slammed the pedals and shes new again!

Thank you man I just fixed the pedals now. There was a whole bunch or animal hair in the potentiometers, the gears and there was packing foam in the brake pedal! As soon as I cleaned then out, they were brand new. Thanks!

This is just a quick fix to make them good again they need a complete strip down clean and di electric grease applied before reassembly i think you might be able to use silicone grease as an alternative

Yes, rubbing alcohol 99% (no water) is recommended, maybe contact cleaner if it doesn't have oils.

This one is great i tried with alcohol first time and it was great, but there is second video of guy doing it with WD-40 and yeah second time i clean it with WD-40 and it passes 6 months and still working perfect so this method is great but cleaning potentiometers with wd-40 had better result for me. I finally got this issue after 6 years of use on my g29. Went to go open it up, turns out someone previously put red threadlock on the pedal screws. Could only get two out before absolutely destroying the little hex key and the screw heads. Time for a wheel upgrade I suppose.

Make sure to use 100% (or 99%) isopropyl alcohol to prevent short circuits. Some have only 70% and the rest 30% are water (isopropyl alcohol is non-conductive but water is).

Mano se que el video es de hace rato. pero no basta con aplicar alcohol ipopropilico al potenciometro. tienes que limpiar por dentro del pedal la parte del engranaje que se mueve cuando lo pisas. ahi se junta polvo pelusas pelos de mascotas etc. tambien los pasadores de los pedales. y los conos de los pedales. el video sirve de guia esta super bien explicado . tenia ese problema por exceso de pelusones y pelos de mascota pero al limpiar me di cuenta que por dentro del potenciometro hay mucha basura que de seguro tranca el pedal si no lo pisas fuerte. tengo el mismo volante sabes de upgrades o cambio de componentes internos que lo mejoren? y otra pregunta la zona muerta del centro hay forma de corregir para que por ultimo le llegue fuerza?

If just the top screw of the accelerator would go out..... It is so damn tightened or whatever the issue is. It even seems like its slightly bigger head than the other screws.. The Allen key is a bit loose in it and I cant that damn screw out .....

I'm racing with a hybrid Hyundai i20N in WRC Generations , I press the gas all the way down but the engine of my car doesn't rev up, what's wrong with this stupid hybrid car I think, I'm wasting valuable time, I finish with a very bad time. In all racing games I have hud disabled, I don't like to see anything on my screen, and I drive from the cockpit. I watch the replay to understand what went wrong and I activate the HUD of the game and suddenly I see that the brake was pressed by itself usually after braking and sometimes when i press gas ! Those are some cheap potentiometers , a bit bigger then in toys but same thing . There are Gold plated potentiometers used for guitar knobs , i guess those can be put in there with no problem , if the head can be removed .
