Fix for sealing problem with fagor duo pressure cooker

An alternative to hitting it is to quickly squeeze the two parts of the hande together. A couple of quick squeezes pushes up the orange seal indicator.

also, check the screws that hold the handle to the lid, they're inside the lip, under the gasket. i was having a heck of a time with mine, the handle seemed to be loose even when locked. was a brainfart day, i didn't see the SIMPLE solution of tightening the screws.. oh well, hit it or tighten it or??? whatever works i guess

It did not work for me. I did hit and tighten the screws as mentioned in one of the comments!

If this does not work for you, then perhaps the pressure knob (on the lid) is not square with the hole in the handle (e.g. out of square so much this whack does not help!). You can check this my disassenbling the handle and realigning. To realign: (remove the screws which allows you to move the handle. Simply push up on the pressure valve from the bottom of the lid and ensure that it easily pushes up through the hole in the handle. Once it is pushed up through, you know that it is aligned. Reattach the handle and tighten screws while the valve is up.

I've got same issue with my 6qt electric multi cooker (Fagor). The issue occurred when lid touches the top of the pot and the seal "fuses" with the top edge of the cooking pot. As a result it can't center itself. That's why the slap or right-left quick rotation of the lid will resolve the problem. I wonder if quick lubrication of the seal with olive oil just before closing the pot would solve the problem?

fagor is not known for leaking, and you need to buy a new gasket is all, gaskets last two years, if you maintain it, I use my fagor 8qt twice a week.
