What helped me was putting the Dino count to, “.75” instead of “1” so the game doesn’t freak out. I also saved constantly, usually every 15 minutes, I’ll also change a setting so I can save while in the settings menu. Hope this helps

This happened to me multiple times in three days, back-to-back. No matter how many times I tried to save my game (I even used console commands to save), every time I left and reentered the game, it always rolled it back to the same previous point several hours prior every single time, costing me hours or days worth of grinding, tames, gear, building, and progress. This in infuriating and inexcusable. Didn’t the devs admit at one point that they used single-player to search for bugs like these? You think they would have found it and fix it by now. How many people do we need to shout loud enough to get the developers to notice and do something about it?

This bug just started for me, after the update that was supposed to fix it. I haven't been able to save anything for about a week now. It's completely unplayable. You would think that wildccard would have addressed it sooner because most of their players are solo players

@@joshuamckenzie831 I’ve noticed that if you put your items and dinos you want to save in the obelisks at a certian point and then leave to the menu without doing the Destroywilddinos command (the save function is tied to the number of animals spawned on the map for some reason, causing the bug), it is a possible chance that you could end up unintentionally duping your items and dinos repeatedly, a potential exploit. I once hatched close to 10 or 15 ceratosaurs, which I then put into the obelisks to save for the boss fights, then after a game crash, the game rolled back to a point before I hatched them, but the ones I hatched were still in the obelisks with around ten additional eggs in the fridge, causing me to have twice the amount of ceratosaurs. I guess it's a nice little reward for all the frustration of this bug.

Unfortunately this didn’t work. This time structure and Dinos I tamed to test remained however all storage containers and inventory is now empty. This is actually worse than before as now I’ve lost all the thousands of materials and resources gathered before this bug appeared. All items looted from red blue green yellow drops gone, all crafted narcs, darts gone, everything. Just a real sh!t show of a release by WC and Snail. Thanks for trying to find us a fix though. Not your fault the devs sh!t the bed on this one and then ghosted players.

Thank you. This actually worked for me. I got stuck in the winter area trying to tame a modded dodorex but every time I brought it back home and turned off my game it didn’t work and I’d turn it back in right away to make sure and I was always back in the snow lands. I even tried save word alone and it didn’t work but doing it after the kill all Dino’s cheat it worked. I may finally rest now it is 7 am did this over and over for 3 hours angrily. I was bout to actually give up too so Ty again 💀

Happened to me twice now. Both with and without your work-around. I have also been consistently saving about every 30 minutes. It worked fine for about a day. I would save, quit the game, relaunch, and it would be where I left off. Guess I should have kept doing that because it lost roughly 4 in game hours worth from where I left off compared to where it saved. Since it was seemingly working fine, I kept the game running between the saves. I just give up trying to play until this is fixed. Way too frustrating not knowing what will save.

Happened to me as well today on my single player world. Logged in and noticed my armor was missing. Both equipped and in my inventory. As well as a few wall pieces missing from my base. After looking it up online I found a post telling me to try checking 50 50. Flew there and found a wooden wall as well as a few wall torches and an ass load of random dinos and eggs just floating in the sky beating the crap out of each other. My plan is to just delete my single player save once they fix this and start over just in case my save now has become corrupted. I don't have much progress anyway and I would rather not keep playing only to find out the file got corrupted a while ago and now it's unplayable when I start trying to fight the bosses and stuff. I'm just gonna wait until they release a patch for it to play again.

To me, it doesn't seem to be a memory leak. And time doesn't matter either. While still testing, it seems to be a problem with the main save file and switching to another. SO, if you start the game, play 5 minutes, but log off to the menu screen, then go back into the game, without fully exiting the game. Sometimes, it starts using a different save file. So, you play a few hours and log off, then come back later and your 5 hour play session doesn't seem to be saved. But it could been an hour or 10 minutes, had nothing to do with it being 5 hours, was just using that as example. My only work around that seems to be working is NOT just exiting to menu screen, but fully out before starting a session.

@@negativehp7653 deleting dinos works sometimes. Something is going on with how the game picks the save to use. Or decides not to use one. Right now, I'm good to go... for now.

Destoywilddinos does seem to work but it seems to bug platforms and crop plots. Everything was there but i thought my plat on my quetz was gone ut appeared a couple minutes later. The crops are there if you look in your plots but they still havent showed up

The crops are a separate bug, FWIW. If you log out while in render distance, they're not visible/rendered when you log back in. If you log out OUTSIDE their render distance, then fly over, they'll show up. It's weird.

ATTENTION!!! This worked for the first few times, but now it simply does not. Not even the SaveWorld* command after the Dino wipe does not work now. Also, the respawn rate on Dino’s is so slow you have to spend upwards of 25-45 minutes in each section of the map to get regular spawn rates with somewhat decent level Dino’s and even then you’ll get reset on the next time you close the game. (My game auto crashes ever time I exit to main menu). I try at least once a day to get it to work but on day 7 now with 2 uninstall and re installs the game still won’t save and still crashes everytime I try to return to menu. Don’t waste your time, wait for them to patch it :/

I just got it on Ps5 and whenever I change my settings like how fast day and night goes and basically menu settings. I save it but when I back out the settings go back to default. Idk what to do or if it a bug that they haven’t fixed yet. Ik it just came oh on Ps5 yesterday

Happened to me. I played a good 4 hours, saved went to go play the next day and the game was no where to be found. Only option it gave me was to create a new game. So I did and just to see if it would delete my game again I only played for about 30 minutes, saved it, logged out, back in and it was gone again. So frustrating. Wildcard needs to fix this ASAP

I had and still have this bug on the island map. The only time i managed to get it to save was after i kicked a mate out of the tribe from when i played non dedicated with him. The next save worked ok but no more since then. Tried force saving by killing a tame, taming a new creature, killing myself, fast travelling, console commands, use creative mode etc..... None of it worked. Im now playing on svartelheim and its fine..... So far.

The only thing about using this method is after dinowipe you have to go to each beaver spawn location multiple times before they spawn in then it takes forever for them to spawn, build dams and create cementing paste.

I have the same issue on the old ark survival evolved, i resolved it by literally using a raft and later leaving it, then i exit through the menu... Also, any idea how can i get high level dinos to spawn?

You can also just change the spawn to 0.5 kill wild dinos once and every save afterwards will work 🤞

Every time I log back into my game, I'm not able to ride my argy or enter their inventory. I have to tame a new argy in order to ride one. Just for it to happen again when I get back on. All other dinos work just fine.

Hey, can anyone help me? I have been playing ark since it came out and I am trying to build a village and castle and making some videos from it. However, I have been off for a few days with the holidays and when I logged in my whole game had been wiped, I lost everything, and it even made me create a new character. This is the 3rd time it has done this with Hrs. of work lost. So today, I started again but now it is not saving at all, I tried the kill all dinos and also tried it in non-dedicated server, but it just won't save anything, and I have to create a new character when I start. This didn’t work for me. I tried moving a couple things around just to see what would save and then did destroywilddinos. Nothing saved and the things that I moved disappeared. I also lost a bookshelf with a lot of blueprints for some reason. It saved my location, like I came back to the same spot after the save, but the items I moved in my chests didn’t save, and one of them is completely empty now. This bug makes this game unplayable. I can’t do anything. I’ve lost several hours of gameplay. I don’t even want to play anymore until this is fixed. Even then, I might start over again… I don’t want to start a new world but I fear the world I’m in now might be corrupted.

I tried this work around and thought it was working. But, I guess not. I did a lot of grinding and taming only to get back to playing and have all that work gone. You’d think they would have that bug fixed by now or at least give us the option to save our progress and recover from a previous save point. Ever since I used the console commands, the save option has been removed.

This happened to me yesterday.. I logged in and spawned in the north side of the island, luckily my argi was still alive. I sfew back to my base and realized I lost about 2hrs. I played for like 4hrs last night building my base up and manual saved like 10 times. I hope it saved. I was considering dying near my base to see if it would auto save there.

Dude you're on single player I assume? Just switch to creative mode. If this comes to official pvp, then people will maybe care.

So in short 1. Boost all the settings before going into the server. 2. Switch to creative mode and you can do what you want. Thst is whole point of single player. Otherwise, welcome to official pvp. Or train a bit on official pve to get good and then cone over to official pvp. 👍

​@@Bahador.B PSA in Ark survival evolved it would autosave everytime you killed a baby dino This makes breeding in singleplayer a ^$%@ing nightmare pre egg hatchery because it would autosave for every dead baby dino In short check if it autosaves when you kill a baby in your singleplayer and just do that because it will without fail if that line of code got copypasted You cannot say that singleplayer is only for creative mode because when playing games there is a flow Ark breaking that flow by forcing you to essentially cheat is what turns people off and they just stop playing or don't buy the game Also not everyone wants to play on a server that will be wiped or pay rent to play on a game they already purchased Some people may want to keep their base, tames, mutation colors, loot, and more There is a similar issue on ASE on playstation rn and it's never gonna get patched where upon pressing exit to main menu the game will crash without fail and roll back to your last auto save in singleplayer and do nothing when disconnecting from a server acting as if you had crashed normally I assume this save bug is copy pasted code from this time period and it clearly needs fixing but this is wildcard we're talking about they won't patch it for a long time because they don't even know whats causing it My bet is it has something to do with Code added a little before the Ryghnio update during one of the last Fjordur patches as that was when the exit to main menu crash first started for me.

It's going on with ps5 non dedicated too. I can't get it to reload the non dedicated, we've spent 10 hrs on 3 different non dedicated on my ps5. Reset every single one and we Can't get into them. There's no ui like in ark where you can pick your save. The menu is just basic and flawed

My graphics aren't horrible but it's not super clear. It's kinda grainy looking and when flying on a flier I see the wings leaving a trail behind, I'd like to fix it if I can but it's not unplayable. I'm on Xbox series s, don't think series x has the same issues

I heard they didn't intend to release it for series s but was forced to by Microsoft. My brother plays on ps5 and he said when trees fall in his they fall like they were intended to with a slight bounce showing realism but on my console they just hit the ground and stop, again it's not unplayable but it's the small things I wish got incorporated into all the consoles (another example would be the water waves from players and creatures I know the series s doesn't show them but it's something I liked when the game was released on pc)

This is a serious issue and they need to fix it asap because it makes the game unplayable. This has happened to me several times since the launch. Its pissing me off cause I can't get anything accomplished.

Spent 5 hours taming a giga, waiting for his health to come back up, and walking all the way across the map just for my game not to save and put me back at my base before I farmed everything to tame him

Ive got a bug on the ps5 version which is when i back out of my singleplayer world all my settings reset.

Still not fixed, the update took the save button away. Logged in and it was saving for a bit, until i tamed an argy and it was gone, almost died when I logged in. Thought I was at base but I was out in map in front of a alphanraptor from hours earlier.

so happy last night i did two caves killed 3 male rhino bugs logged out for the night got on about 30 min ago and everything is gone thank god we got this new updated game the old one didnt have this bad of problems

I have a question. I am new to ASA. And I was wondering if an option around the save issue was to play in a non dedicated session vs single player session ? What’s the difference if I play the game in a non dedicated session? I googled it and the answers are confusing to me. Can anyone help explain?

I lost a 135 giga after taming it i saved the game logged of and pressed x to load last game and i was 45 behind on progress and lost the giga, is there any way around this ?
