Thank you for this video. I started up my laptop while unplugged from power and got stuck with the GNU Grub program prompt. I discovered the previous owner had been using ubuntu and there were 4 instances of UBUNTU boot up in the BIOS and windows was number 4 in the list. I removed the 4 ubuntu references kept the windows one, and used UEFI boot key for windows I made a month ago and it booted up just fine again. If you plan to sell your laptop, make sure you clear the BIOS of any OS boots for OS that are no longer installed. Cheers.

I though after I install Kali Linux in HDD,Ubuntu will get removed but today after updating Kali Linux ,when I open my PC it showed me boot setup,there was Kali,Ubuntu and uefi:Toshiba partition 1,in boot sequence.in boot sequence there was "restore setting "and I did it now there is no Kali in my boot sequence,only Ubuntu and uefi:toshiba partition 1 and when I open PC it sends me to grub command line. How do I remove Ubuntu from bios and boot Kali?there r important projects in my Kali. Can u help me pls?

This is helpful but many new Linux OS which goes in grub now require command like #linux imagename root=path (which is your path of your grub files) initrd /initrafms-version.img boot One should always keep note of grub files location cat /proc/cmdline

The more easy way is to go to start menu of ur pc then select boot from efi. Then select linux 64(may be boot 64 or something else) . Problem solvem

Hi, idk if i just did something wrong but, the only partitions that i get when i write ls are : (memdisk) (hd0) (hd1) (hd2) and when i use ls to search for files, the only one that has something is memdisk, where i could only find boot/grub/grub.cfg Im installing kali from a kingston usb.

@@temporarydrip Yes managed to fix it. Either do not use hybrid ISO or use rufus on windows to create bootable with MBR option.
