Fix 'HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden' & 'No Permission to Download' Errors in IDM (Updated)

The new update for IDM just came out. I updated it 10 minutes ago. The previous IDM version was 6.42.12. I uninstalled it and restarted my laptop, but when I reinstalled it, it was still version 6.42.12. However, an update for version 6.42.14 immediately appeared. I just updated it, and now I can easily download videos from KZbin. Thanks to IDM for fixing this bug. just wait for the newer version of idm 6.42.14 everyone will be able to download videos from youtube

hy thanks for ur feedback! as i mentioned update your idm in the first step. before install new version always try to uninstall the older version using thirdparty programs like io-bit uninstaller or erase your data tool.

IDM has released at least 2 updates in the last 24 hours to address this issue. So update IDM, update IDM browser extensions, restart computer, and try again (try all 3 major browsers). If this doesn't work, try to capture the embedded yt video url link (share > embed > copy embed url link to new browser tab). Then try to download video from embed link. YT changes how it serves videos a lot, but most of the changes are handled by IDM automatically. But this time, the change was massive and so it broke how IDM (and other YT downloaders) was able to grab video stream. Interesting how so many people just slammed all of the downloaders that were working well for months/years because it stopped working for a couple of days. Instead of giving the developers them a chance to fix it.

If you're here looking for the answer on in July of 2024 the issue is the way the server points to a 360DPI version of the video. right now the 720DPI(via the last KZbin server fix on 7/8/2024) is the default. There is no fix at this time. The server is rejecting because of the "expire" and the Format code. What does work as of right now is "KZbin downloader by Addon" as a Chrome/Brave/Edge extension. when you go to download the file select "720DPI" or higher. the 360DPI is the problem, youtube might be removing that quality What normally happens is the main file is based on HLS/M3U8. Then based on your connection it points it to the correct version best for your computer. Example : Standard Default was 360 New Standard is 720.

I used to just refresh youtube page and then it would work (indicating that the "cookie" or the server connection from the last load has expired). But now, nothing works on youtube. Seems all old yt downloaders got hit with this issue. Good news: Can confirm "video-downloadhelper" (github aclap-dev) works ok. But takes a while to download; appears to re-encode the stream.

This seems to be a YT issue which manifested the past few days. IDM, YT Downloader and 4K Video Downloader, none of them work anymore, no matter which browser, or which virtual machine I use.

Tried the IDM update, still didn't work. My problem was that IDM worked on other sites but not the one requiring membership to gain access. Updated IDM anyway. Still didn't work and I thought maybe the site owner has now blocked downloads, but not being one to give up so easily, I deleted every shred of IDM on my laptop and reinstalled with the latest version. Et voila!! Working beautifully! To be clear - I had signed in to that members website, but IDM still didn't work.

Got it! If updating IDM didn’t solve it, try this method: 1- Uninstall IDM using a third-party tool to completely remove it from your system. 2- Restart your PC after uninstalling the older version-this step is important to clear out any leftover files! 3- Head over to the official IDM website (internetdownloadmanager.com) and download the latest version from there. 4- Once you’ve installed the newer version, try downloading KZbin videos again. This process should fix any remaining issues!

Reason? Everything I mentioned is accurate. Update your IDM due to new rules and privacy changes. IDM cannot detect download links, but there is a new patch available, and your problem should be resolved after updating IDM.
