Mine didn’t work even after resetting network or resetting all settings. After months of trying, I got tired of it and just used my apple ID. Had this problem with my daughter's phone. I called Apple support today. They said this usually happens when your number is blocked in their system, they will have to unblock it out their system first, and then it's a 24hr or less wait for the activation to be completed. Worked for me within 6 hours Good luck 😌

It happened the same to me. You need to contact Apple Support vía Support app on the App Store. It is probably an Apple ID failure. My Apple ID was blocked and that’s why it didn’t work. The only ones that can unlock your Apple ID are the guys from Apple support. Just tell them if they can check your Apple ID status. Hope it helps!

Go to settings and tap facetime or Imessages and make sure you are signed into both if not that may be the issue, that's how I got mine to work.

Hi guys!!! If you’re still suffering from this problem, I suggest you download the Apple Support App from the App Store and navigate through the app and find Messages app and then click it, scroll through the bottom where you can see “Chat”. Click it and tell your situation, an advisor will come in 2-5 minutes to talk about it. After the end of the chat, they will say you have referred to their engineering department and there will be a call back for you. Just say you want them to call you and give your number. Select the time best suited for your call back. What happened with my imessage is that the system blocked me because sometimes the system detects spam messages or any sort so in order to avoid being blocked, pls avoid sending such texts. I promise this problem was solved. Thanks Apple Support!!!

THANK YOU!!!! This was the ONLY solution that worked. Apparently someone flagged me as spam at one point so Apple blocked my device on THEIR END so they had to reset something using the serial number on my phone. Once that was done everything worked but only Apple could do it. It's been months trying to figure it out and I tried EVERYTHING. Thanks so much for your advice on getting the App and contacting Apple directly. I didn't even know they would help me as it was an old phone and I don't have Apple Care.

Easy way I did is went to settings then turned off my iMessage and FaceTime then went to phone number, edited my phone number and turned on my iMessage and FaceTime waited a few minutes and bang it worked like magic.

if you live outside of the US ill suggest you first check with you carrier if you can send sms aboard i wish i knew this before i tried all the other advices on YT and apple support. basically once you’re carrier removes the blockage you need to restart your phone and it’ll activate iMassage

It happened the same to me, it is probably because your Apple ID was reported as spam so for security Apple blocked your Apple ID. You just need to contact Apple support via Support app on the App Store . They will check your Apple ID and in 10 minutes they will unlock your Apple ID and you’ll be able tu use it for FaceTime and iMessage in any device. Hope it helps!

Omg it’s been like a month and I’m still getting this error. Finally was able to get the iMessage activated but it won’t send messages and still getting the error firing activation on the FaceTime. The FaceTime worked perfectly and then one day the phone died, put it on the charger and FaceTime never worked again
