My 2010 Tundra just broke recently. It happened to be the left rear too. I'm glad I found this video. Thanks for the instruction and I will be ordering a part soon.

That's awesome! This was my first attempt on the fix; it was quite easy. You got it! Keep me posted when you get it fixed; let me know if you need any further instruction! Good luck!

My 2012 left rear door double cab broke the same way. I superglued the small piece back on, then used a lighter to melt it a bit. It's holding for now but probably will end up ordering this part and replacing it

Nice fix! Hopefully it will hold once the cooler weather really hits. The part wasn't too expensive and as you can see, easy swap.

Great video. Happened to me, my problem Door is closed in lock position, how do I open door ???

That's def. a tough scenario! The door wont open from the inside or outside when you remotely unlock the truck (just in case you didn't know, double tapping the unlock will unlock the rear doors). In my case, I was able to use the key fob to remotely unlock the truck to open the door. I had trouble only manually operating the lock from the inside... So what can we do in your scenario? ...since the sub assembly comes as one entire piece of the handle and lock (as shown as 7:44), what I would probably do (from the interior) is to remove the plate from behind the handle (2:21). then pop-off the lock button. From here you should be able to see the white cable that you can then manipulate to lock/unlock the truck using the pull-cable. *Note, you will have to replace the assembly.

Thanks for documenting this process. My 2007 Tundra has the same problem on the left rear door. I too thought it was the cable but I am almost convinced it is the door lock/handle assembly. I was looking at RockAuto for this part. They have Dorman replacement parts for ~$23. I would rather use a Toyota part like you did. Do you remember what you paid for the replace handle?

I paid $30.86 for the Toyota Part.
