He used a heat gun on screw covers and metal tweezers and priers to pull thin wires and latches. What are you doing!!!?? Use plastic. And you don't need a heat gun to do this at all lol, that's the best way to fuck your top screen.

How do you know if the ribbon cable is in far enough? I’m pretty sure I’ve got it in there as far as it will go and it’s still doing the same thing yours was doing at first. Is it possible the connector is broken, and if so how would I know?

Im a month late but there almost shouldn't be space between the connector and the sides of the ribbon cable
