As an acrylic artist I would say you did a good job. A few points that might be helpful would be to add some cadmium yellow and alizarin crimson as well as a dab of black and white to your palette to zero in on a color match. Also I would do my blending on the palette with a separate small brush and save my liner brush for the actual work. With a dark line like that to cover up I would start by covering it up completely with the lightest paint making it opaque to cover it completely then blend in the darker shades. Another trick that helps blend in colors is to us a q-tip or an artist stipple brush in a dabbing motion. Also It's a small point but ochre is pronounced like "oak-er".

Thanks for the tips! I will definitely pick up some cadmium yellow and alizarin crimson.

try retouching colors for color prints. you can build up the color tones on a paint sheet easel and use them for years. a water base product. they can be sealed with lacquer when finished. a sharp tip sable brush works well. (woodworker's store has a retouching color set in a plastic case for wood)

No color wheel?
@JackbenchWoodworking5 жыл бұрын
Color wheels can be very useful. I have both a regular color wheel and a wood tone color wheel, but I do just as well mixing the paints by eye.
