Thank you so much for posting this video!!! Fixed my 8-year-olds Nintendo switch lite that he dropped in the toilet! Yay! It was such an easy and simple fix!!! There wasn't much water in his device but enough to corrode the two little connectors for the screen and the power button so the device was having the exact same issue as the device in your video. He had sound and a touch screen was working but no display, however One shining upright LED pen you could see that the screen was very very dimly working.. I'm so glad I came across your video, it was super quick and easy! thank you, thank you, thank you!

Excellent video very informative, I do have a question my daughters Nintendo switch light did fall into some water let it dry for a couple of days and sometimes will take the charge and sometimes not when it comes on. It is fine, but tends to die out and then takes a day or two to come back on what could be the issue maybe the battery??

This is a great video but sadly it didn't fix my problem. I took it all apart and had a good look for corrosion. A couple of small marks but nothing extensive. My daughter had it in her backpack with a leaky bottle of water that flooded it completely. I drained as much as I could then when we got home opened it up, wiped it down and left it in an airing cupboard. Since then when I took the game cartridge and memory card out the fan turned on but about 20 seconds then nothing. Since then it won't turn on, won't make any noise, no idea if it's accepting a charge. The thermal paste did seem pretty melted, but not into the circuitry. Not sure what else to try :(

I followed the instructions, but I found that that bottom cord (sorry I don't know the name) that you cleaned off, on my switch is totally corroded through, like the gold color is eaten away in the middle of where it connects. What is the name of that cable so I can order a new one? Thanks!!

I did this method, went to best buy and bought the 30$ ifixit kit to have the tri head screwdriver I needed to open the console. Instead of taking a toothbrush, I just took the cables out, and brushed them off with the tweezers and the pick-like tool that came with it. Pushed the cables back in, locked them down and pressed the power button and wahlah!. Appreciate it man, my son dropped his switch in the bathtub one week after Christmas, trying to watch it while he was taking a piss... I was butthurt about it for awhile. Like I understand hes 4 but I was hottt about the shit. Especially bc I bought him that one so he would stop using mine.

My right joystick is stuck going to the right and the R just doesn't work. After the carrying case got submerged into a bowl of liquid I had no clue was there. The switch lite I use pretty much daily, so sucks not being able to use it

Does it go in one direction on its own? If so that is joycon drift. That means you would probably need a new joycon. (Easy to fix.) If not that means it's jammed, once again, new joycon.

you can use it but you need to let it dry for much longer

I followed this fixed it right up, after charging it cut on like normal I left it on the charger and now it won’t respond at all , the screen is dead black won’t even light up slightly when being charged not sure what’s wrong now.
