Thanks it's worked for a disk error occurred during a read operation It was happening when i was trying to add files in quick access it's working great now .

Well, I had to do the CMD Prompt fix, using the restore health and clearing two of the files. Worked perfectly after that and thankfully as I am using ssd's it was a reasonably quick process, perhaps 5 minutes in total. Cheers from Australia.

Thank you Sir! Command Prompt method worked for me. Νo SFC errors during process but it fixed it just fine! Make sure to plug in all your SSD or HDD before the process.

Hi, nice advice. In my case it was all about disabling "Windows Search" in msconfig. I could access C drive, but nothing else. Once that service was disabled everything started working again. Windows button+ X , Open "Run", type "msconfig". Select "Services" ribbon, find and disable "Windows Search"

I am having problrms with file explorer in Windows 10 but it's not this, but I can't find my problem anywhere. Sometimes file explorer will open. but wont actually load whats inside, and the green bar at the top will forever load. Sometimes it'll load whats in the folder but wont show the icons fully, and to fix this I have to go to task manager and restart windows explorer. But it gets to the point I'm doing this every few miinutes, quite frustrating. Any ideas?

I have a different issue with my windows 10 laptop. It has the message: failed to launch explorer homed at D:/ My D drive is not showing on my pc. I tried looking in disk management, but I cannot find the partition ssd D Drive. Is this D drive recoverable? I cannot system restore the D Drive because there is no restore point. I have performed a clean windows 10 installation on my laptop. Then 1 hour later my D Drive has mysteriously disappeared.

Any idea on how to stop file explorer from linking me to an internet search? I don't get why Microsoft engineered file explorer to have an internet link instead of just a local file searches.Those two features really shold be kept separate. It seems they have a longer search field that only redirects to the internet & a small search field next to it that allows for local file look ups. So annoying. I just want to get rid of the internet search filed & only have the local file search bar.

File Explorer isn't staying open so I can select another file after viewing the first one, as it requires me to go back to the taskbar and click-on the FE icon again, then downloads. Ugh! I want it to stay open until I'm finished looking at downloads. Can someone help with this problem?

Thank you for doing this great job. MICROSOFT should offer you a job for at leasts $600.000 / year. MICROSOFT should have tested their new O.S. and should have fixed all those bugs before they pushed all the windows users to this shitty, buggy and spying O.S. in order to try to get back a small part of the smartphone marked. BTW, I work both on a XP professional computer (2002) which works still fine on internet (with a good antivirus program) and a Windows 7 computer witch also does a good job.
