This helped so much, thank you. What I did. 1. I switched off my sound limit 2. I used alcohol base substance, like methylated spirit to clean of the wax 3. Used a soft tissue paper(toilet roll) to clean. Then boom I have my loud pods back in my ears. Thanks! Y'all can use this technique as well

If your AirPods are really quiet even on full volume, try this: 1.Forget them from your device 2. Open the case, but don’t connect, just hold the back button for like 15 seconds 3. Connect back to the AirPods. That did it for me, my volume went back to normal and I got earraped as soon as I played some music, hope this helps.

Cleaning them can also cause low volume after a while, when you clean then they look clean but if you shine a light in the smallest grill seen a layer of ear wax that was between the two meshes. I used a fine brush with some alcohol and gently scrub the grill and it definitely improved the loudness! CAREFUL!!! Please be gentle and go slow! It’s tempting to go fast to check them out I did that and now every time I double tap it makes a little noise which is annoying now, they don’t make noise during loud music playback only when double tapping.

@@monstamomma yeah it’s a tedious process but you can fix them, it also depends on the consistency of your earwax, for my AirPods I was able to brush the earwax behind the grills easy but when I did it for a friend it took way longer (around a hour) compared to mines.

Stick the part that goes into your air and suck on it fast 1x on each AirPod and suddenly they will be twice as loud. Also, if 1 AirPod isn’t working at all just press and hold the button on the case for exactly 15 seconds with the airpods in the case that will fix the AirPod that isn’t working. If this still doesn’t work for you I recommend this. I tried many different ways of “fixing” them when all I really needed was a good old clean. Now I personally thought they were clean until I did this: To fix your sound issue, take a softly bristled clean toothbrush. You can then carefully brush the larger opening of the Earpod. then, (bear with me) suck on the larger opening until you can feel that you are causing air to come through. Then, brush again. This should solve your issue. The main reason why this has happened is ears with an exesesive [sic] amount of wax that melts into the earbud.

I’ve had the same problems recently the sound quality even all the way up was really low so i’ve just found out if any of you have the same problems just take off this metal little gray black mesh shield things where you would normally try and clean them and get something like a metal tweezers and push it into them and lift up and then I was shocked to see behind them they was completely clogged with wax even tho the over side that I clean all the time was completely the opposite on the other side so then just clean them and put it back on or just leave it off like how mine are and omg the sound difference now is so loud I can’t have it past half way now!

Most likely it’s dirty, the mesh gets covered with ear wax and there’s no way to clean in from the outside. You can take a needle and carefully poke out the mesh altogether and they should be loud again

for anyone having issues . take a q tip & soak it in water & make the q tip a little moist with the water then rub it on ur oval shape airpod hole to remove ear wax . then take a dry one and lightly rub it over it to try & blow as hard as u can into it and then suck as hard as u can . keep doing it & try seeing if it sounds louder . worked for me . the issue u have may vary (if u got water into it, etc) mine was simply ear wax issue & a little water on the hole (not inside the airpod) just on the mesh . TAKE CARE OF UR AIRPODS GALS & GUYS

I got mine to fix GUYS!! so here is what I did 1. Go on settings, scroll all the way down 2. Go to about phone 3. Go to software information 4. Tap on Build number 7 times 5. Developer options is now unlocked, go back scroll down and hit developer options 6. Make sure Disable Absolute Volume is TICKED OFF (or just hit the on and off button at the very top for default options) 7.Go to Bluetooth 8. Click on the 3 dots on top right cornor 9. Hit Advanced 10. HIT MEDIA Volume SYNC to ON Thats it, it should work!! Try steps 7-10 first but if the option is blurred try steps 1-10. Thats what worked for me!!

Okay hear me out but… if you try sucking on the main speaker part of your airpods, wait until you start hearing some air come through and it could help a little! I tried it, and before when my airpods weren’t working very well i was having to turn my volume up to 90%-100% but now around like 50%-60% sounds the same as it was before! Atleast try it because it really worked for me and now i can hear much clearer! 😁👍

FIXEDDD! Unfortunately the video did not help me, but after HOURS of research I found out what is wrong. I had my phone reducing loud sounds! if you watched the video and nothing worked, try this, it might help. Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Headphone Safety. If the "reduce loud sounds" is on, turn it off, and you should be good!!! :))))))

I have the 1st generation AirPod's and they were absolutely great! But there was about a year that went by where they weren't used and after charging them again, I noticed that the right AirPod just wasn't producing much sound at all. No matter how I had that earbud positioned in my ear, I could barely hear anything. After un-pairing and re-pairing my AirPod's numerous times with no success, I finally said screw it and bought AirPod Pro's. But I just thought it was so odd that one of them just decided to stop working correctly. I would also like to add that they weren't ever dropped nor ever gotten wet.

For those who have the sound only on the outside and not the main speaker: Take a Q-Tip, hand sanitizer, lotion. Then take the Q-Tip and put a bit of both of the lotion and sanitizer. Then rub it in the main speaker. After that.. Suck it (I KNOW IT SOUNDS WEIRD) And use a hair drier and blow it at the main speaker for about 30 seconds. After, suck it again and use the Q-Tip and put them on! It will 100% work trust me!

Guys my volume was really low, even at max. But when I went to settings, btw I have an iPhone 10. I clicked on volume limit 0, all the way to max! And my airpods worked, it turns out music is the volume to my AirPods! Try and see if that helps! :)

it could be because you have the setting mono audio turned on. turn that off and your audio should improve a bit.

In the morning it was perfect it was sounding normal. Then my cousin came and decided to use my airpods to listen to music and after that my other cousin decided to use my airpods to connect to his device and it happen two more times on other devices then at night i decided to listen to music and connect my airpods, I turn up the volume then it already reach up to the level but it wasn't loud that it used too. I searched up everything and nothing showed anything that cant be loud enough. I reset my airpods, I looked at settings, I tried to change the volume high on my phone. Nothing. Please help. PLEASE!!!
