The newest SAMSUNG update seems to have eliminated that nagging message that I am charging my phone with a low amp charger. I have all night to charge it and I already know it is a low amp charger, so I don't care. I just didn't need that glowing message (every 10 minutes) to bother me at night while it is slow charging.

This is what I do I keep plugging my charger back in and out untill it says like 2hours and _ min or 1hour _min hope it helps if it dont get a new charger

HEY! I have the same issue. my s8 doesn't fast charge anymore and I updated the firmware a week ago. Sometimes it catches fast charging but only for a few seconds. Now it always say cable charging. I did factory reset but no luck. I think it's a bug firmware tbh

There was a firmware update recently, at least for s8. Essentially a security patch update.

My S9 is driving me insane too I bought 3 cables and tried tons of chargers, did all those tricks nothing is working. The estimated charging time is between 5 and 11 hours. Sometimes when I just plugg it it charges fast for like a minute then it slows down. If you guys find a solution let me know please.

@@treverlidster8297 I had to buy an official Samsung charging lead NOT the 3rd party cable's being sold online. That resolved the problem. The old Samsung cable's get loose in the charging port which causes the problem.

@@oyvindhard You need the official charging cable not the cheap leads online or in the market phone shops. Its unlikely anything is wrong with the charging brick it's the cable that goes faulty causing error messages and no or slow charging. I brought a cheap cable and kept getting error messages and slow charge thinking the phone was faulty. I went to carphone warehouse and got an official lead which worked immediately.

Samsung is SHIT. I had this note 5 Samsung I didn't use for 2-3 years . So it hasn't has security updates since. I just activated it . And it charged from like 30 to 100 in 20 or 30 minutes WHILE USING IT SAME TIME , so fast. After doing like 6 system security updates from Samsung. It does not charge even 5 percent as it used to!!!!! SAMSUNG IS CRIMINAL, THEIR SECURITY UPDATES PURPOSELY MAKE PHONE CHARGING SLOW SO U CAN BUY NEWER MORE EXPENSIVE PHONES. WISH I NEVER SECUIRTY UPDATED ITTTTTTTTT
