I can actually relate to this character. I have had a few “friends” who just use you for comfort, knowing that you won’t turn away from them. You give your all in trying to make them feel better, to “fix” them, and they take you for granted. You lose more and more of yourself trying to fix someone else that you forget to worry about yourself or can’t care for yourself, and that eventually leaves you exposed. When you finally speak up about how you’ve had enough and can’t care for that other person with the way things are, they get angry and storm away (although in my experience, they still come back, expecting me to just suddenly welcome them again). It’s when you find friends who fix you back- who actually, genuinely care about you- that you can be happy. You can live with your scars as they live with theirs, and that there is where it graduates from just being friends. You’re like family at that point. If nobody hesitates to help each other, you’ve got a good thing going, just like at the end of this animation. To everyone out there who has too much empathy/sympathy for their own good: take it from me, you have GOT to cut the toxic people out of your life. If they’re using you, they will use you until they can’t get any more out of you. I know from personal experience, and not just once, either. You gotta take a stand. Trust me. Good, real friends are out there. You just have to find them.

This is what happens in a bad friendship. As what starts as small things to help out, become bigger and bigger and what starts as just a kindness because a need for the other person. And when you can’t give anymore and you need help from them, they won’t return your kindness. You get guilttripped into being a bad friend when it’s you who has given the most, you who has been there through everything, been happy for them but as soon as you have something to be proud of, you should stop talking about it, stop showing of, you know they aren’t doing well at the moment. And when you eventually break, or you stand up for yourself it’s all over and your left feeling like absolute crap.

I just realized! They missed an opportunity to make the main character's "black box" gain an additional crack once his toxic friend leaves. Almost reflecting that his experience with his "friend" left him somewhat traumatized. And it would've made it all the more meaningful when his new friend gave him his own bandage, signifying how making new friends helped our main character heal from his recent wound. All in all, this is a lovely story about the difference between a "friend" and a true friend.

I noticed something eas off from the first time he gave the guy a band-aid. The next time definitely confirmed for me that it was an abusive relationship. The guy constantly being "sad" but immediately perking up once the MC does something for him was really obvious, but obviously it's hard to tell when you're in that situation. Happy he turned out well.

He was in a toxic relationship Once you realise your in a toxic relationship get out of it as soon as possible Dont lose your self trying to help someone, You can stil help them but remember to care about yourself in the process Or let them know what their doing is wrong dont tear yourself apart for people to feel better just remember" selfcare" It's what you need in your daily routine In the end you'll find better friends than you have. There may not be a memo(moral)of this show but i think its about selfcare

This was absolutely beautiful! And it’s really hard to go through what they had to go through. You care about others too much and then you slowly realize they don’t really care back. But it hurts that you no longer have someone to be with even if they were a horrible person. Sadly, I haven’t got to act 2 where the good guys who actually care as much as I do come to be my friend.

I love this mainly for the fact that I have several people in my life who I've welcomed and invited in my friend group who've had to suffer and deal with band-aid stealers. If you are in a toxic band-aid stealing relationship, find someone who can help you stand up to them and say NO.
@BONEZZZZZZZZ4 жыл бұрын
This is an interesting metaphor for toxic relationships. It really shows how some people can give and give and give their last to a person weather physically like money or items or even mentally like just having a sholder to cry one. It also shows how some people just take until these noting left from a person only to throw them away as they hold no purpose. Our main character who I'm gonna call fix gave emotional support or just support in general in the symbol of bandages to our seconday character who I'm gonna call blue so much to the point he just couldn't anymore fix had given so much to blue that he was physically and mentally incapiable even when he tried to to give anymore bandages to blue to the point it actually hurt him to try but he wanted to because he believed blue was his friend and when for the sake of his own healty he turn blue down blue became furious and cast fix away. And then someting great comes around. Fix get new friends. At first just like anyone who been hurt he's skeptical at first but orange that's what I'm calling him along with his other friends stared giving to fix the help he had been pouring out to his previous friend. I love the metaphor for what some people give to other being displayed as bandages and over time when you given too many it become too much for you to take and you just cant give anymore even if you want to you physically can't because the important thing to realize about fix is he NEVER said no even when it started to get to much and even at the end he hesetaed and he tried but he physically could not give anything more to blue. And it hurt fix when blue left because he thought all that giving made them friends fix put some much into this friendship and got nothing. But when blue left better things happend for fix and I'm glad it did I love the message of there are people who will take what they want and leave but there are people who will give just as much to your friendship as they take away from it. And if it becomes too much you can say no. But don't assume that means them leaving is a sign of your fault. No. Its theirs because they just lost and amazing and worth while friend.

I! LOVED! IT! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! the idea of the bandages! its so cute and nice and i loved the story line of it! i enjoyed the look of the brokenness underneath and how they helped them! it was so sweet and i loved how amazing the character is even without words you can tell what they are going through and in my case you can tell what they are feeling and thinking idk about anyone else. But i thoroughly enjoyed every second of it.

I can relate to that character. I had a friend where I would constantly be there for him, defend him when people bullied him, buy him things he liked, get him Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, I even went to Comic Con with him last year when apparently no one else could or wanted to. But he never gave me anything in return, he never really appreciated me for being a great friend. He would always take and leave but never give back. It went to the point where I started to question my worth and went down a spiral of sadness and anger to where I almost started to do self harm. It's been 5 months since we last talked, I don't know if he changed or not, a part of me wants to say hi but another part says to wait. I'm not sure if I ever wanna be friends with him again but I'll just have to wait and see what the future holds for me about him

I used to constantly get used as a means to get something by a girl that lived nearby when I was younger. She would constantly come over wanting to play only to use me for my belongings bc I was so gullible at the time. Back then, I only had 1 other friend and so I was desperate to find more friends. I eventually figured out that she was manipulating me, so I snapped and told her to get out of my life. We have run into each other since but haven’t talked.
