Excellent guide, simple and clear, unfortunately the micro SD I know so much that it is to be thrown away, as soon as I get to the passage everything is ok as in the video, but returning to the qindows disk partition screen the micro SD is always on read only. I thought it was the fault of the adapter lock, I changed at least 5, but nothing, it will be bricked by the nintendo 3DS XL. In fact, the content of the console remained, if I put the SD on, the latter does not start, removing it is ok, from the PC I see the content and it does not make me delete it, but only move it to the desktop. To me it always remains like this: Current read-only status: Yes (in the first yellow string) the second is set to NO.

Options : Modify Registry Information to Remove Write Protection from SD Card. Step 1 : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/StorageDevicePolicies In case you were not able to locate StorageDevicePolicies, you can create this folder. To do this, give a right click on “Control” and hit on “New”. Followed by this, choose “Key” and give it the name as StorageDevicePolicies. Right click on this folder now and choose “New”. After this, go to “DWORD Value”. Now, name it “WriteProtect”. Step 2 : If you have found the StorageDevicePolicies, you will be directly navigate to the “Write protection” option. Double click on the “Write Protect”. Step 3: Once done, make the value as “0” followed by hitting on “OK”. Option 2: "attributes disk clear readonly" “cmd”. disk part, list disk, select disk, type "attributes disk clear readonly" Option 3: diskmgmt.msc utility access disk management delete the volume , and recreate.

I followed all the steps and options but nothing change In option 3: I am getting this error 👇 ❎ The requested could not be performed because of an I/O device error. And there is only two option to choose when I right click on the DISK Delete volume.. and help.. All other options are greyed I also tried FORMAT and CLEAN Commands through CMD Diskpart tool But still showing the same error.. ❎ The requested could not be performed because of an I/O device error. 😑 What will be the problem? Actually I formatted this 64gb of SD card as a internal storage due to My insufficient phone storage. One day it's got corrupted due to some copying process error. Sounds difficult to solve, but I suggest you to try on different devices like camera, smart TV, windows or Mac. But make sure you have executed the "Attributes Disk Clear Readonly" command before selecting other devices.

I tried to wipe a micro sd card with minitool partition wizard and the old card just got write protected. I think it just died and the write protect mode is a way to get data off the card but you won't be able to ever use it for writes after that. Never had an SD card fail before. This is the first time. - The problem is that windows does show that the clear is successful even tho it's still in a protected state after using this method.
