I have a flock of chips that have become write protected with my main computer. Do the methods unwrite protect the system (that drive or any sd card) or just that chip? I ask this because the same 'write protected' cards are not write protected in another computer.

Recoverit can pull the pictures however my SD car is readable but not writable nor is it formatable. I tried what you suggested but none of it works. I can see and open the picture and video files and (right mouse click) copy/paste them but I need a clean SD card and all the space. Help.

Works Perfect - now - after I moved the switch to unlock, 1:06 minutes in the video, dud me! I downloaded from my desktop computer, Christmas music, and wanted to play outdoors as I decluttered my back yard but when I tried to copy to my Tablet chip it kept saying-Write Protect, which was the first time I had the problem... Good to know all this. My SD cards were giving me the write protected message and I should have followed your methods. I ended up purchasing an online system repair program which corrected all the corruption in my computer including the drive systems. It cured a lot of other problems my PC was plagued with too such as bad malwares. Anyway, I was able to format and load my SD cards again.

silly thing, I used tio have usb 2.0 Manta all in one card reader and here my SD card is readable and can do anything with data on it. Bought on amazon USB 3.1 Lexar card reader and for some reason my card inside is read only. but again I put the same card back to Manta 2.0 and it is readable and same in Lexar says can not copy to it. I have a MicroSD 512gb that the only use was on a nintendo switch oled, and from a day to another, the games failed to start, and i cannot play anything. My drive is saying available space 0, used space 0, when i wipe pertition and create new, it shows available space 0, use space 15Gb. When i unplugged it and plug it back, it shows unalocted space, when i create pertition again, it just keep repeating the circle and windows is unable to format it and each time i format with the advanced software I am using, it turned the space to unalocted space repeating the circle again , what should I do please?

I tried formatting one of my unformattable SDXC Memory cards on my HP and It formatted fine. Now I tried to reformat it again now on my Acer and it now formatted fine. I tried all those methods but its still on write protect mode. I am 100% sure there is no physical lock mode on my usb. And it became write protected when I was using Rufus to create a bootable usb to install linux. But, it failed to create the bootable usb, but instead became write protected. And after tryinga ll these methods and even using apps like ease us partition or sth, I can't remove write protection. So, what do you think is the problem? Or is it time for me to change the usb?
