I had just replaced the SSD drive when my laptop started overheating. I did realize the fan was making weird noices before so I figured it was time to replace it. Thanks for the video saved my laptop and tons of money. Only thing I did not do was remove module connections nor the SDD or Ram drives, did not seem to interfere. Much appreciated, thumbs up!

Thank you so much for posting your video. I too have never taken apart a laptop. When my fan started making a weird noise, and nasty popup told me there was a problem with the system cooling fan, I was resigned to just taking it to get fixed at Fry's. However, i read through your video and thought, "well, I can take some of it apart and see what happens". I'd already picked out where to order a replacement online. Well, I finally got to the fan, took out the two screws and unplugged it. Sure enough, the blades wouldn't easily spin around, so I pushed a bit on the blades. Then I saw it... a small piece of white system tape emerged between the fan blades. I pulled it out, and the blades spun freely. So I thought I'd just plug it back it in to see what happens. Well, it worked! No nasty note, and the keys worked. No parts, no expense. When it fails, I'll have the confidence to replace it myself. Thanks again!!

What a great video. The Toshiba Satellite is such a durable long lasting laptop. I had already converted from Wni7 to 10, cloned two new hard drives, the last one a 1TB SSD. Recently the fan started making noise. I followed this KZbin to the letter and completely took apart the laptop to get to the fan. New $9 fan installed and the laptop good for several more years! Thanks for this video!!! Ed/Alabama K8EA Channel

Thank you so much for this video! It was easy to follow and I've never taken apart a laptop before! I learned a lot in the process too! Thanks for the suggestion to test before putting in all the screws...I had forgotten to replace one of the ribbon cables.
