Fix the position of a figure in MS Word

In this video, I will show you how I get images, with their captions in MS Word to stay put on the same position on the page. The text will thus flow around the figure while the figure remains on the same position.

You can hide the borders from the start as well, then just enable "View Gridlines" in the Layout tab of the Table context tab group

I wonder why I couldn't fix the photo itself, word gives me no options to fix the photo which is infuriating. It fixes itself at the top of the page and anchor where it's supposed to be, but when I click the layout, it does not give me any options to click. Like they are there but I can't click them, like the option is disabled.

In my case it did work one time, the other time it did not. I was about to freak out because i didnt get why and was searching for the wrong setting. but did not find any diffreces in the time it did not work. Easy Solution / Time Saver : 1. Took one that works perfekt and copy it. 2. Place it on an Empty Page, delete the figure and caption. 3. Try randoom text if it works. 4. You have a empty Master Table that yopu only need to copy if you place something new,. Settings are already done.

This is an excellent trick, thank you so much, but can someone explain to me why microsoft would not make one easy button on the inserted photo that just keeps in where it is? Why? Why would they not do that? There are 300 options of how text can wrap around and scramble your entire 300 page thesis into hell shambles but not one option to just keep a figure locked. What the actual fuck.
