Most of the home studios I see on Instagram have the same basic problems with their speaker setup, it’s an easy fix and you will make better-sounding music as you’ll be able to hear what you are doing!!

To point them at my ears-I point them at a little behind my head. Since our ears aren’t located on the front of faces- that would be grotesque. So I usually see a little of the inner sides of the speakers. Sorry if I’m being pedantic.

I personally like to get a little closer sometimes when I'm focused so it's not ideal to put them a little behind either at least for me lol

Losing bass in the sweet spot is my issue with I roll back further from the desk there's loads of bass compared to the sweet spot
@boredv3
@boredv3 Жыл бұрын
that’s because you should first find the optimal spot in your room. look for where in your room music sounds most balanced. then place the speaker sweet spot there.

Do the 'subwoofer crawl' which entails placing the subwoofer in the sweet spot crawling around the room till you find the deepest bass. Then just swap places.

@@totalplonker824no man no lol all that extra bass is built up in the room. if you did that you'd be working based on a completely inaccurate sound. a 20hz wave needs 11ft to develop. the center of the room reveals less bass because the waves cancel each other out in the center. the corners are where all the buildup happens most. As for placement, you typically want to be at the ⅓ mark in a rectangular room. all this stuff can of course be researched online but it takes a lot before you really start to get a good understanding of acoustic science so one guy who you can definitely trust is Bob O, look him up.

First of all I don't have studio))) I only have room which is terrible with sub echo. My setup is krk rp5 g3 and m-audio 2x2 with a lot of cheap headphones. But still I can mix my productions. This is not ideal but after 6 years of mixing and playing tracks in clubs I learned how to do it correctly. Diligence is the mother of success. Good luck brothers.

Open all windows, doors etc.. room gain compensation will draw out most of the echos.. Like seriously, even with little bass traps you can get good acoustics..

If you're in an equilateral triangle like shown, what happens to the stereo image? The sound waves haven't had any chance to meet right?
@darkskinwhite

they do because your monitor cones are done shaped. but the soundwave from your tweeter points almost directly towards your each which is more important because the higher the frequency the less the sound spreads.

Adam's A7's definitely yes, but depending on the speaker designthe location might be a bit different, generally get your tweeters pointed at your ears because the frequencies coming out of them are very directional
