My GOD THANK YOU FOR LIFE. Please never take this video down. Followed your instructions to the T and cured my hexars sticky shutter. Thank You so MUCH!!! Happy Holidays!

Thank you so much for this video ! Perfect instructions. I just followed along and fixed the sticky, non-working shutter button on my Hexar AF. After not using it so much during the pandemic it developed the problem. Now it works perfectly. I noted tarnishing on the copper spring and the contact that it sits on. A few sprays of contacts cleaner with small amount of rubbing and now the camera works great !

Fantastic to have a helpful visual resource for cleaning the Hexar sticky button if and when the problem arises. A voice over or subtitles to help describe what we're seeing would also be really useful for those of us with little to no technical skills. Appreciate your work, thank you

Did it already with the help of this video a couple of years back and had to fix it again. Thankfully the video is still there because I completely forgot how to open the shutter button mechanism. Great help and still a great camera that I love to use.

To those watching this in the future. This fix is indeed relatively easy for anyone to do. Only thing is when taking of the first bracket/clip, like in the video, hold it down with a finger as you pry it off and up, I say this as without do so the circuit board flexes. Other than that take you're time as this is honestly quite hard to mess up!

thank you, worked. it's also a good idea to bend that steel spider a little more to revitalize spring action. a side note - so many times i've seen appreciating 'metal covers' .. they are actually plastic and i managed to snap off one of the front screw bases ('lug' on a cover)

@@gettons1980 hi, unfortunately yes, to some extent. the button is flimsy, a bad choice for otherwise great camera. originally the state of mine was worse, sometimes not even firing, now it fires every time but still i'm afraid to focus&recompose, because my finger never knows, how to hold the thing in focus. and i still dream of converting it to two-button operation with thumb-focus like on contax g-2 for example.

Great and helpful video! Disappointing that as good a company as Konica (was) would design a camera that is routinely killed by a tiny speck of dirt or corrosion on an internal part. I asked a Konica repair person to estimate this repair: $350!!!

I just used this video to fix mine and had no experience with this type of repair. It was really easy, just make sure to be careful when taking the metal clip that holds the rubber piece. You just need to apply slight pressure under the metal piece, not the plastic surrounding it, to have it come off. My hexar now works great, very easy fix.

hey guys, i sort of have the problem with focusing: each time i focus and hold the button it refocuses when i press it to take the picture... is it the same problem derived from the sticky button? hence can i fix this issue with this tutorial?

Thanks for the wonderful information.I have three questions.First do you know the other version of hexar such as gold or silver version's front conver can be peeled off as the black model you demonstrated in the video?That mean can the leather be relocated without any cosmetic problem as before?Secondly, do you know how the double action tactile switch act two mode?.How does the 4 leg parts control the two function depending on the pressure for auto focus and shutter release?The reason why i am asking is I think I should know how the switch do their function to correct the problem.In my opinion I think the contact erosion is not the real problem but the unbalanced pressure to the four leg part cause the misleading behavior to the 4 contact parts .So maybe opening the switch and just relocating the 4 leg part maybe the key to the process.And in my opinion the leg should be flatted rather than bended if the button does not contact well.Because what we do to make shutter function is flattening , not bending the four leged part .Lastly do you know how to replace the battery of auto date parts?Should I open with screwdriver inside the film container part to replace the auto date battery 2CR5?

im not sure for which problem this fix is. i have this problem: while holding the button down halfway (usual way) the camera focus the most of the time corectly but if press the button all the way down the camera focus again and make a shot.she dont make a shot every time. is this normal? because somethimes d camera dont even react if i press dr shutter button. do the the autofocus system have a lot of problems with less light because i just tested it inside. thanks for answer and sorry for the bad englisch.
@mikeno628 жыл бұрын
+abdulkadir1990 No problem with your english. It's a very commen problem with the shutter button, because over time there will be a bad connection in the shutter button, and it need's some contact cleaner or Isopropylalcohol, then it is fine again. Cheers Kenneth

How exactly did you get the metal part to pop off the plastic piece of the shutter button? I see you prying underneath it, which I tried, but I wasn't about to get it off.
@jakubkucharski88878 жыл бұрын
On both sides of the plastic part theres a metal catch, you have to pull it from one side or another, then the whole metal part will bounce up and it's easy to remove and clean.
@mikeno628 жыл бұрын
Jakub is right, it's just to gently pull off the small metal catch with a small tool, one side then the other and so on. Remember the orientation of that part (just in case...) You can read much more in infomation about this film. Hope it can help you. Cheers Kenneth
@borlange117 жыл бұрын
The 2 small holes on the front side which are used in the video in order to pull off the metal part are not present on my Hexar. Very sad! Until now I could not solve that "pull off" problem. I am very grateful to mikeno62 for his video and already ordered some tools before I discovered the absence of the 2 holes.......My Hexar is the stereo version, named RBT S1 (Raumbild Technik Germany). Has given me splended stereo pictures until 2 years ago. Then came the problems.

I managed to fix mine today, but i didnt get of the metal part thingie over the plastic piece. Just sprayed some contact cleaner on there without popping it off, and that worked. Its really impossible to see how to remove that thing in this video, but other than that, good vid. :)
