Thanks for the help man. I had a problem where my contacts were split between my phone and Google account. I fixed it by doing what you suggested but I noticed my WhatsApp already allowed contacts. I simply denied access and then granted access and it fixed it. If anyone else reading this has a similar situation try what I did and good luck 🤞

@@sophiefarhani yes..i just started saving contacts in "contacts" app instead of "phone" app...especially in "device" option and not in my "email" or other options. Thanks for asking.

Thank you, it worked for me today on 16th April (25th Ramdan Kareem), 2023. If no change appears after changing settings in permissions, just clear/ close recently opened apps including WhatsApp or maybe only WhatsApp (I closed/cleared all) and then open WhatsApp again, contact names shall appear.

should the above not work, ,i went into phone contacts ,and added the contacts that i needed,and hay presto there they were on wattsapp,i must add that i have just changed phones and the phone contacts didnt move with the change,wattsapp did ,very easily by backing up to google drive and installing from there,
