What worked for me was clicking on "Universal serial bus devices" and "Apple mobile device USB device" and right click "update driver" thanks for getting me here to help fix my iPhone problem.

you can also update in device manager then choose an iphone ... i solve it using portable devices when iphone was plugged in to computer (only that way you can find portable devices)

A simple trick is that just go to control panel printers and devices right click on ur device e.g my device is iPad click properties go to hardware left click on what ever u seen on device functions and hit properties and click driver and hit update driver that’s it if this work I deserve an like ❤

In Windows 10 when you plug in your iPod, in my case a Nano, Device Manager adds a folder calll "Portable Devices". This is where you will find the device so you can right click on it and attempt to update the driver.

You're missing your mobile drives people! Those who didnt have apple iphone devices show up under portable devices you need to check and update your windows with your iphone plugged in, mine was missing and that put it back. Also if you cant see your portable devices right click device manager and then choose show hidden devices.
