My website does not have products to purchase...I have a cold list of emails, And I am looking to send out 1) An intro email to get them to visit my website, and if they want to sign up for email and/or text notifications. 2) An ability to create custome emails with links to send out weakly. Hi there! Thanks for the question. That’s a bummer. So are you trying to connect to your hosting company’s smtp server or to another one completely different?

@@WPressDoctor it got sorted. Some issue cause of cloudflare, customer service had to give me another nameserver!

It means that this ports are probably closed by your hosting provider. Try port 2525, if error persists then go to your hosting provider and try to put DKIM and SPF on and it should fix most of the issues already. After that you can try if you even need a external SMTP. Avoid using port 25 when using an external SMTP since its not secure.

Hi there! Well it’s actually the same, so save yourself some time and use SMTP: “Amazon SES sends email using SMTP, which is the most common email protocol on the internet. You can send email through Amazon SES by using a variety of SMTP-enabled programming languages and software to connect to the Amazon SES SMTP interface.”

Hi there! Thanks for the question! Well if you receive the test email, it shows that your website and the plugin works, emails get sends! So that’s that. Which method are you using to send out a ‘real’ email? Is that a contact form or WooCommerce for example?

The “reset password” emails almost always go to spam… if it’s about contact forms, you should try check your DKIM and SPF settings on your domain (hosting). That might help…

Thanks Matt. I certainly know what you mean about a hassle with Microsoft. I am trying to set it up at the moment for a client but unsuccessfully. I wondered whether you could advise with that? I wondered was whether the email address used to access Azure for the set up MUST be the email address used as the "From" address for FluentSMTP? At the moment client's IT guy set me up with an email ID to access Azure but no Microsoft email package plan, which could be why the test message keeps failing...?

Hi there, thanks for the question. It’s hard to tell. The login to Azure doesn’t have to be the same, as long as it has access to the emailaddress you are trying to connect. In this case I would ask the IT guy to walk him through the steps with you, so that he can provide you with the right keys. Works for me every time I encounter problems with clients and they all have these IT guys 😀👍🏻 There actually really friendly always 😎

@@WPressDoctor thanks for that. I've set up an app in Azure and connect to it but I thought I read somewhere that the account accessing Azure needs to be the one that is the active email account... Perhaps I'm wrong though lol.

Hm I have set this up multiple times via a tech guy, and he logged in via joe@company and we set it up for support@company… I think it’s only important that the logged in person has authorization to do so… but you can try it of course, azure is a big forest where you can easily get lost 😅

I am having a very difficult time doing this. I ACTUALLY HAD AN EMAIL THAT WOULD SEND, before this tutorial but would always send to spam. I used wordpresses email. So I purchased the siteground email. NOW, AFTER following exactly as you said. EMAILS do not send on wordpress with siteground, EVEN THOUGH, they say EMAIL SUCCESSFULLY SENT. I checked sent email and email recieved and nothing was delivered or sent. I have been spending 4 hours on this now...

What if you are building the website for a client and your email is in the admin setting (client doesn't deal with website, I look after updates and login notifications); how can I get the FluentSMTP to work, as my email is in there? Client's email isn't getting website's form and FluentSMTP was suggested ... but this Admin email is an issue. Any suggestions of a work around?

Hi there and thanks for the question! The admin email is not used when you are using Fluent SMTP and connect it to a smtp server. Because in the settings you can define the senders email address and name 💡 So keep your email as admin setting and use smtp to send emails 😀 Should work!

It may be suspended by your host if you or one of your other domains in the same host made bulk sms sending and consider it as spam. Refer to your host

Hi there! Thanks for your question. That is not suppose to happen. BUT if you are using a service like MS365 or AWS, it could be that that app is closing the connection. Unauthorized probably mean that this app needs indeed to be connected again... If you are not using a service, than talk to your hosting company?
